    Damn you.

Vehicle Voltron is one of those must have bots for me. He was central in my love for large machines.

Wheres this TFW link you were on about?

Ah i was just saying the place i got it from (Chimungmung) was recommended by someone in a TFW thread.
I contacted the guy running that shop over email to request EMS and he told me mine's the last of his in-hand stock at the moment.

It's also due in July at HLJ. Robot Kingdom appears to have shipped out some despite their product page saying no release date and in stock at the same time, as this guy's review mentions he got it from them.

From reading around, it seems to have had 2 batches of release in quick succession and RK seem to have got their hands on the first so far, which has a few QC issues, whereas the others have waited for 2nd batch with supposed improvements. I got the guy at Chimungmung to inspect my box before shipping so hopefully I won't have any issues!

I should say Tets, even once this guy arrives i'll still have some jealousy of your original (plus i won't forget how fun it was watching that auction end!)

I found what seems to be the origin of the news that RK somehow got and shipped first-run products - the Miracle Productions Facebook page has a comment by someone who got his with a defect from RK, then Miracle responded with this:

... we would like to clarify that we do not have direct connection with the shop you mentioned, RobotKingdom.com. We have not directly distributed any products to this shop.
It's all quite strange cause RK have had the product listed for a very long time! At this point though i wouldn't order it from them if anyone's considering.

Oh yes, that's a tale I regail to all and sundry. A mighty adventure if ever there were one

AS for me, I think I will get one, but he will wait to next pay cycle before I pull the trigger. Got the car insurance ATM.
On the plus side, at essentially $300 he can't get much pricier can he?

Trusted by Australia Post with the power to form Voltron!!

Initial check - no paint issues, parts broken or pieces missing! In fact the paint is beautifully applied and a lovely sparkling variety.
Each piece has so much metal that i think when formed this beast will be heavier than a metal Predaking... can't wait!

I just have this one for now, more in a few hours!

I have to enact minor repairs as well; pulling him apart i mistook a protruding piece for a button and pushed it right inside. It looks like i can fix it easy enough once i get my hands on a screwdriver at home, thankfully.

He is absolutely magnificent! The heft, the quality of connections to latch everything in place, the overall look and quality of materials, it's just brilliant! I am in AWE and can't wait to build him up and down again several times tonight

And here we go! Easily fixed the pushed in part, and in doing so discovered some articulation i'd missed!

This behemoth has so much going on i can't get to individual vehicles or teams tonight! Plus he's so big he played havoc with my lighting and haste!

    Some comparison pics
    Perfect scale and look!

    Some poses & details
SWEET JESUS! This guy looks so awesome!
I did seem to have either a breakage in box or with little effort from me, honestly not sure - on one of my hand pieces. The one that splits the fingers off to allow you to insert blades or spears, the the fingers are connected by a small piece of plastic but mine is snapped at the middle. They still hold back into the palm mind you, and i think only a dab of glue would fix it. The hands are very tight to remove the fingers before you can put a weapon in, so i'd just advise caution prying them out!
The swords have a rectangular shaped handle that fits into rectangular shaped holes, which unfortunately makes the dual-handed sword wield pose barely attainable. If the handle and hole was just a cylinder it would have been able to do it easily, but i guess they were going for toy accuracy perhaps.

    Arm & shoulder articulation
Pretty much just his design getting in the way of almost flawless arm articulation! And even then the chest jet accomodates it by folding the wings in. The magnet connection is a bit of pain when posing the arms though, best to just place the jet on after you're finished.

    Waist articulation
Full 360 rotation and a couple of ratchet notches forward too!

    Head articulation
It's on a ball joint on the attachment piece - the attachment piece can but placed forward or back to aid in tilting the head in a desired direction.

    Leg and feet articulation
No strings baby!! Stunning weight distribution and posing potential!

Release button and not release button locations!
Yes, that's a piece of blu-tack holding the groin piece door, which was there the first time i opened it. How it got there, I will never know, but why it's there is unfortunately obvious. Not a big deal really. The release button in there, and the other one in the torso aren't really needed so the door can just stay shut the whole time.
The lower waist piece has the protrusion that i accidentally pressed inside the toy, but as you can see it was an easy fix. Blessing in disguise in fact, taking that piece apart led to the discovery of the waist articulation!

    The Weigh In!
And MP Vehicle Voltron weighs in at.... 1.15kg / 2.53lb!
    For comparison's sake:
    • MP-1 Optimus Prime & Lionbot (Matchbox KO): 1.1kg / 2.42lb
    • 2010 Predaking: 1.25kg / 2.75lb
