I think it's a lucky draw, possibly a WonderFest exclusive... Otherwise they look a little questionable apart from Unicron of whom I know to be an exclusive.

I guess some people (myself partially included but not to the same extent as some) like the idea of having something unique or close to it. Like misprinted stamps or cars produced in limited numbers, certain people will always pay more for them.

So it sounds like some people are interested in the novelty of having something rare just for rarity's sake. I can understand this desire, but I don't know about throwing bucketloads of money at something that, really, I'd only be interested in purely for novelty's sake rather than the "intrinsic value" (for lack of a better word) of that toy.

Don't get me me wrong, I'm not out there, running around trying to buy every bit of limited gold vacuum metalized plastic., but if it is something i like and it's rare, i would be prepared to pay more for it.

Same here, only that I'm not prepared to pay more. Then again, I'm not prepared to pay more for anything really. Common or rare, if I like a toy and I can find it at (or close to) its original/retail price, then I'll get it. If I can't, then I'll skip it. The "original price" of a lucky draw toy is 0JPY (0AUD), so I'd be willing to pay x∞ that price ($0 x ∞ ), but no more than that.
