    Default 3D modelling

This isn't necessarily transformers related, however in a way it could be.

In the last few months I've started teaching myself how to do 3D modelling just using youtube tutorials and playing around. I've done a couple of other simple models, however this is my first real attempt at something half way decent.

In the interests of keeping things transformers related, I've commenced modelling Bayverse Bumblebee and thought I'd share my progress so far:

That good man....what program your using?...
Hey can you start doing transformers heads?... well i need one...ahahaha
you know you can load this up into shapeway and the can print it out and people can order it on there and you get a percentage ... the only thing is the postage to Aus is very expensive...

    That great stuff.....

Very impressive! Can't wait to see the finished model! I'm also curious about what program you are using.

I'm using 3DS Max Design. It's funny you mention making transformers parts and Shapeways, that's where I would like to head. Even designing a whole transformer would be cool. I reckon I could do a head. Give me some sketches and I will try to do one for you. It will be an interesting project. Especially in relation to scale and making working ball joints.

    Looks great.

I spent an evening trying to make a replica G1/2 Predator missile in SketchUp with a view to 3D printing via Shapeways, but got frustrated at the limited controls and gave up in favour of moulding and resin casting. I'll get around to it at some point.

Hmmm, I can have a go at that for you if you like. I'll post it when I'm done. Might have to give me a while though, I only get a couple of hours each week to do these things.
