And I thought mine was just one that slipped past QC. Sounds like they might have all been mis-painted.

I'll have to see if this is a common thing on the global fansites.

Looks like it is with all Starscreams, so is an odd factory error... as it doesn't seem to be intentional, because there is nothing mentioned to say it was meant to be like that.

Just more pathetic QC. It seems to be on every Starscream head. Certainly something that should have been picked up on.

I think they look sexy in their packaging, they should sell pretty well.
personally I will probably wait for a sale and grab soundwave and Wheeljack, they are the most appealing to me visually.

Considering the price for the size of the Scouts, compared to regular Deluxe figures, they are definitely look like good value. They are a bigger figure that can convert, and even on the shelves it is a bigger box next to the bubbles of a Deluxe (or even a Cmdr class figure that is the same price).

    Yeah, all Starscreams are mispainted.

The one at Hasbro's booth at Botcon (or maybe it was SDCC) even had it. Even they couldn't find a properly painted one.

I do think these are a really good value for the smaller sizes. I really don't believe you'll feel ripped off for the smaller kits. They're large, contain a decent number of pieces, look good, offer lots of play in transforming and easy customisation, and are just FUN.

The larger ones just aren't worth it. Though they attempt to smooth it out with the storage tray, which is...well....yay?

Also, some parts are in the corner in a separate tray. One is the head, which makes sense, nice to keep it separate and semi-visible to the buyer, but also a couple of other random pieces. You'd think they're extras or spares, a bit extra for your cash for screwing around. NOPE. They're actually needed. There's absolutely NO reason why those pieces couldn't just be in the bags with the rest of the same-shaped pieces. It's strange.

The smallest sets are at a perfect price to compete with the lego Hero factory, Chima and whatever future "bionicle" sized/styled lines lego release as well.

The larger sets are very overpriced, and not that much bigger in even in the packaging. They might be a harder sell.

The random bits are there to show people exactly what the parts look like, as there isn't a window in these boxes, and they are a new concept... plus, it looks more interesting having that little corner there.

Had this problem as well, so shot off a email to Hasbro Customer service and this very helpful email returned.

    Hi Shannon,

Thank you for your recent correspondence. I am sorry that in this instance your Transformer has not lived up to your expectations of a Hasbro product. I just wanted to reassure you that we are committed to providing the best quality of product we can on all of our range.

When we receive feedback from customers regarding a fault or operational difficulty, we forward the issue directly back to the manufacturer to be considered for future production.

The product has been assessed by our quality control department and it was found that the entire range of product has the same coloured appearance. The situation is that this was the initial design of the product, then a change was added at a later date.

While this does not help your own situation, rest assured we are doing everything possible to ensure the quality of the product is of the highest standard.

I have ordered the required part from overseas. Please email me your mailing details and upon receipt of the parts will send it to you in the next mail.

Please be patient as this process may take a few weeks to obtain the parts.

I'd like to thank you again for your correspondence, and assure you that we do take on board your concerns, and that we do everything we can to ensure that our products represent value for money.

    Regards

Wow, that's pretty good customer service. Good work Hasbro Australia.

perhaps the "original design" was to have paint over the outside of thehelmet only as the contrast of the grey on the inside edges near the face looks pretty good against the black where it's actually painted.
