You would think it would turn. But nope. The towers on each side of his head stopped that.

I personally find no appeal for the 'replacement' G1 head. If the robot mode didn't turn out as good (and that is with a questionable tank mode), I would have skipped this due to so much engineering going to the G1 head mode (and nearly did).

I guess it can work for the bound to be more numerous G1 Fort Max bodies without heads.

I'm in the same boat. I don't own and have no intention of owning a G1 Fort Max so the headmaster gimmick does nothing for me. The robot mode looks great but I think for the moment I'd rather wait for someone to do another MTMTE inspired figure with a less dubious alt mode.

Before the Encore release, the head mode and large gun would have been a much more lucrative prospect, since there were so many headless Fortress Maximuses and it was a pricey bitch to hunt down Cerebros, Spike and weapons. I still think this is an incredibly clever toy.

Wow. This guy is awesome. I haven't even transformed him yet but I'm super impressed. He's easily the most high quality classics character EVER. He is soooo articulated. He even has an ab crunch!
