I was 7 when the G1 cartoon hit our TV's so it was perfectly aimed to hit all my happy buttons and rewire my brain to the point it is nearly 30 years later and I spend all my spare cash on figures that emulate or pay homage to the G1 characters I grew up with.

I think you'll find many similar stories. A lot of the long-timers in this community are around the same age, being kids when G1 began.

I actually say something similar to what you said there when explaining why I've been a diehard TF so long: like "I was 6 when Transformers came out and was the perfect age..."
