I brought it up in the TFW2005 g1 thread

Apparently they tried to sell it to Brandon?

It sounds a bit high to me, but a Mint Sealed one could be getting close to that now, after a number of collectors seem to have been splurging on the ultra rare items in recent years... pushing up prices in the process.

In Osaka, I saw a store wanting one for 100,000 yen (about US$1,000), but I think they were really low-balling its value... possibly to resell, as I'd expect maybe US$5,000+ now for the various Verses giftsets. If you could get one that was "AFA 90" or better condition, you could very well demand anywhere up to 10 grand... as it would be considered an investment piece. (yes, I see the price of Mint condition VSX, VSY, VSZ sets continuing to climb due to the rarity of them)

$5000 seems to be an agreed price on its market value based on what I read on the internet, always interested to learn that a TF toy can go for that price. I always thought that G1 Unicron prototype would go for at least $10,000

Apparently this piece was missing the poster and paperwork. Ive never been to keen on the VS and Goodbye sets. Your essentially paying for a box as there is very minimal difference between the original vintage releases. Much rather spend the $ on a Black Shadow/Blue Bacchus/Artfire etc

My thoughts as well. Prioritise toys that are different first... and even if I had a million dollars, I still wouldn't spend thousands on a toy that is basically a duplicate in different packaging, just to say that I have one.
I did that once with a Lucky Draw Primus, and there's little personal reward, and I have no interest in buying any others that are just bought for their value or rarity.
