Default City Commander shoulder weather-vane gun storage - what's the trick?

Pretty much what the title says - how the heck do you get the weather-vane gun to store on CC's shoulders, without falling off if you so much as look at it?

I've got it to stay in a few times before so I know it can be done, but I don't really know how - it always seems to take ages of fiddling with it and a hefty dose of luck. All the advice I've found has been "push really hard and wriggle it around a bit", but it fell out earlier today (got nudged as I was moving it to clean the shelf) and I've been trying to get the blasted thing to store for 2 hours now with no success.

I know there's 2 parts to the hole it goes into but they're both just too damn wide. Is there some kind of trick to this that I don't know about?

    Cheers btw.

    Blu-tac.

Or do what I do and keep it safely stored in a Tupperware container with other loose bits.

Pretty much, though I usually flip the barrell down so it doesn't stick up quite as far.
For the time being I've just looped an elastic band around the back, but if there is some kind of trick to getting it to stay securely on its own I'd really like to know it.

Sorry if it's kind of a dumb question, it just irks me a bit is all.

All my toys are packed away as I had painters in but will be unpacking them during the week. Once I get my City Commander out, I'll give it a go and let you know.

Mine holds the vane gun in his hand. I have a spare pair of G1 Ultra Magnus launchers connected to the shoulders (cos the G1 launchers are also 5mm compatible ).

Hmm... mine's sitting in the same shoulder as Kup's pic but is folded over so it's facing forward - It's buried at the back of a shelf at the moment and it's been so bloody long since I've handled it that I can't for the life of me remember how it attaches beyond plugging into a hole.

Sorry to be a complete lack of help Odey, but could it be that the placement is shoulder-specific?

The placements are shoulder-specific (the 2 shoulders have different-shaped holes for the different guns), but the vane-gun just won't stay in its hole.
I've got a temporary solution going in the same style as yours, but yeah...I figure there's probably some trick to getting it to stay in on its own that I don't know about. It doesn't seem like FP to leave something like that as a sort-of design flaw.

Either way, it's no biggie, just a little irritating is all.

the vane gun should be firmly attached if the CC is the original, but there is no way that it would stay in its hole on the K.O one.

Everything else seems to check out re. authenticity...I dunno. It was pre-used when I got it, so maybe someone messed about with the weather-vane hole for some reason.
At least it was in better shape than butchered 'customised' the BW Metals Ravage I picked up a while back. That thing really needs some TLC from a competent repair-artist.

For the time being the lackey band trick is doing OK. Cheers anyway peeps.
