    Default g1 scorponok reissue/ko queries

Hey guys lately ive been considering getting a g1 scorponok. I have seen him in a few peoples displays and in scorpion mode he looks sweet.

Soo. My question is, i dont mind collecting reissues but generally like to keep them to takara and maybe hasbro versions. However i have seen a few mib g1 scorponok kis on ebay and i know they arent legitimate.

Had anyone had experience with these? Quality? Do you thunk theyre worth getting.

I like to have a box with my figures but not necesarily misb as i still like to grab them out and display them.
Hence id rather buy reisues then 1000$+ originals as long as theyre hastak.

Where the otiginal molds used for these like some of the ko reissues.?

    Thanks in advance deno

If you're looking to identify a KO, check out high end TFs guides.
Brr-icy's guide listed there is of the loose version and he talks about the difference in plastic quality between the fake and the real thing. He said he used the KO for a custom.

Pretty sure Scorponok has never been genuinely reissued, maybe someone else can confirm for me? I don't collect G1.

Quality looks terrible as per the review. The Boxed KO is more expensive than the loose original.

I wouldn't mind picking up a KO as spare parts. I've had my Scorp since I was a kid so there's a few bits missing here and there... plus the shiny shin guards are no longer chrome but orange!!

That is correct, he's never been reissued. AFAIK the only toys that have been reissued from that year (1987) are:
    Chase
    Fortress Maximus
    Freeway
    Goldbug
    Hot Rod
    Kup
    Overkill
    Rollbar
    Searchlight
    Sixshot
    Slugfest
    Soundblaster
    Stepper
    Twincast
    Wideload

...anything else is a filthy counterfeit. (-_-)

Yes unfortunately 'ole Scorponok has never been re-issued and to be honest mate, I wouldn't waste my money on a KO.

I utterly adore this toy, my own owes me about $500 all up as I had to piece-meal him to completion; He's 100% complete, right down to his accompanying paperwork and a fresh set of Reprolabels reproduction stickers, but I went about acquiring him to a level and by a means that may be a bit off putting to a number of people.

That should give you a bit of an idea of the possible investment you're facing, in-lieu of an Official re-release and if you choose to avoid KOs - It can be done (And probably cheaper too), it just depends on how much you want him dude.

a few years back. Think Gold Box Classic carded and boxed figures from the 1990's.

In addition, Scorponok was reissued/released in 1993 to the Chinese Market
