Don't forget he sometimes had red eyes instead of a visor in the cartoon. So you could say that both the visor and eyes are show accurate. Animation errors...

Or it could be from the flash photography or lighting on set, as the "red eye" effect was a common thing back then...

Hlj has released Takara version at 20,000jpy not the cheapest definitely.
But you don't need to out payments upfront

NY has it for 17,180jpy and if you ship it by boat it be cheap otherwise 5,000jpy for shipping airmail.
