Wow... Loving the box! Not sure about the purple chrome though but I'm not sure I could walk past that box without buying it.

Makes me wonder what the HK ani-con exclusive will be this year. SDCC is timed after that right? (HK Ani-con is around the 24th July)

Yeps... I don't like chrome myself. Makes me scared that I will scuff or chip it. Good for MISB collectors

The interior of the box is designed to look like that artwork in the back of the original Generations book... and the toy itself isn't too much different to the regular version. A bit like the Metroplex toy in 2013 as it just has some shiny bits added.
This was the image I was looking for, from the back of the original Generations book. When you open the SDCC box, Devastator is in a maintenance hanger that looks like just like that.
The most obvious difference with the toy is the shiny bits (Mixmaster barrel and something on the head or face I think... and I want to say the chest-piece as well, but can't remember), plus some extra paint details.
But aside from that, it was very disappointing to have it being basically the same as the regular version (again, like SDCC Metroplex), and I had trouble hiding my disappointment at Toyfair, because the Hasbro people were so excited having it, and excited about giving a couple of us fans a sneak peak at it. (I felt bad about not being able to give them the excited response they were hoping for, because I really wanted it to be Gen2 coloured.... but know why it was kept green.)

Basically, if you get the regular version, this one will be more expensive, pretty much just for the packaging and a couple of shiny bits (and for it being a SDCC exclusive).

The images at the Planet Iacon facebook page have been removed... so maybe they got into trouble leaking it before the official announcement by Hasbro or SDCC, so I might have to remove my comments, in case the condition of my silence was for the official announcement, rather than its discovery.

Looks like Hasbro had to make it official now that the cat's out of the bag... as they posted up an official promo image on facebook about an hour ago.

The SDCC version has eyes instead of a visor, and the chest-piece does look like it could be chromed as well

Yay... it means I can say that I saw it way back at Toyfair... not that it makes a difference, as the posted photos says more than what I can remember of it anyway.

Holding onto that info for so long must have nearly burst an artery Griffin, I'm impressed.

I really like the extra paint details, silver on the hands, black on the sides of both vehicles with treads, A few more paint details on the vehicles that adds a lot of character but doesn't make them too busy. I just don't know about the Chrome.

or the Mega massive box I could never throw away. Or the Convention price they will be here compared to the retail version.

i'm curious to see what Takara comes up with.
