I don't know what it will notify you with - it could be all posts, or new topics, or just replies to existing topics.
I have subscribed to the sales main thread and every morning at around 2am (not sure why is this time?? Sometimes 2:05 or 2:15 but always 2 something - probably when Griffin gets around to pushing the big red send emails button ) i get the following email:

It's not live tracking so doesn't alert each time a new thread is added so if someone puts up a new sales thread at 7 pm the previous day, unless you continually check and refresh the sales forum your not going to know about the 7pm post until the 2am email or if you just check the forum when you get up the next morning (potentially missing a bargain). If you subscribe to an individual persons sales thread it will email you every time someone posts (which as UM mentioned can become tedious and doesn't help with newly added posts you are not aware of).
If it's possible Griffin when subscribed to the main sales thread an instant email alert when a completely new thread is added would be nice but not every post like when subbing to individual sales threads. Thoughts??
