I never pay full retail as it's over inflated here compared to the US retail price which is why even if I didn't have those two figures it would still equate to a $40 pod. The US retail price of the pack also confirms this artificial inflation.
Already having the figures of course means that the pod takes up the majority of the money as even reselling the figures would probably only garner about $10-15 each.
I'm just hoping no one buys it, that way TRU can have another deep discount because they have too many of the things, I'll buy it at $20 total but no more then that

More photos in case anyone was interested.
(I didn't buy this - these are just taken at the store)

A closer look at the two toys, which don't appear to be any different to the original release. The only difference is that the scanning codes on
them for the RID App, are for the Hero/3-step versions, which may have been intentional, to reward the buyer with unlocking a (slightly) more
powerful version of each character... but since you can permanently unlock them with Ultra Sparks and both Warriors and 3-steps get you 8
Ultra Sparks, it isn't much of a bonus.

And a look from the top to show that it is just two halves of the one stasis pod.

I've been getting some of the RID stuff, I was put off by Steeljaw being the first I collected. It's a horrible toy. I am planning on snagging the Grimlock BB platinum 2 pack from somewhere so I too, like everyone else collecting RID don't need/want the two toys in this pack.

the weapons are a nice touch and I really like the look of the stasis pod but like everyone else, the price on this is off the charts for those items I'm actually interested in. It's a shame that stuff like this isn't more carefully considered. The same pack with two new decepticons I would be all over. I have several of the newer decepticons now and they are excellent toys. I hope for a redesign of steeljaw, though I realise it's highly unlikely.

I bought this last week, and like the rest of most of my toys they are still in the box.

This is targeted to kids so BB is a must, but why dont they put in a better decepticon? I havent watch RID so no idea which deluxe would be popular with the kids.

Steeljaw is the primary reoccurring antagonist in the series.
Kind of the megatron to bumblebee's prime. So in universe it makes sense to put the two "leaders" in the box.
It's just unfortunate that they've released bumblebee SO many times already. And Steeljaw is the most lacklustre decepticon toy in the toyline (for this size class)

the set itself is based on the climax of the season 2 finale "decepticon island" where bumblebee and Steeljaw had their final(?) battle both wielding shape changing super weapons (hence the multiple
    Weapons included in the set)

Really in terms of decent toy, any other decepticon would have been better. Thunderhoof, Fracture, Quillfire, etc.

This set has just been released here in HK and I thought it was eye watering at HK$379 (AU$65). I can't believe in Oz they are asking AU$80 for the set!!!
Please tell me it is shelf warming and will hopefully come down in price soon...

HK Toys R Us almost never reduce Transformers prices on figures. They still have boxed sets from last year on the shelf at full price. :/

My kids really want it and we never got the 2 figures (although Bumblebee will go straight in the not played with box as my kids HATE RID Bumblebee) but I'm having a hard time rationalising it as a purchase at full price...
