These exclusives, aren't quite the same as a Botcon exclusive. those were rather limited and had very premium decos in most cases. These amazon/Walmart/Target Exclusives really feel like pretty much repaints in fancy boxes. the extra cost being hard to justify.
the Reflector set is most impressive, and I've already pre-ordered it.

I'm tempted by the G2 Sideswipe set, tempted. it's a bit of a pill though.

Okay, so the Hasbro panel has been done, and we didn't get any new Studio Series toys revealed, or added to the display cases. That seems odd. They still have at least a year to run on the line, just for the Constructicons to come out.

The Reflector 3-pack has now been listed on Entertainment Earth (along with Lancer and Galacticman).
Reflector is US$70 for October, while Lancer is US$20 for August and Galacticman is US$50 for August.

So many exclusives for the second half of this year... I've counted 24 so far, and that doesn't even include the import of Japanese MPs.
    That's gonna get expensive.

This year's SDCC for Transformers seems a bit strange to me... a HUGE focus on exclusives, with no new reveals for the main lines of Studio Series, Cyberverse, Botbots, and Rescue Bots... and only a small number of non-exclusive WFC toys.
It's almost like the large number of one-off collector toys this year is a separate "toyline" or division, as you'd need to spend more on the exclusives than you would on the regular mainline.
We now have to wait until NYCC in October for the next Hasbro event for public reveals.

Here's a couple of interesting (hidden) tidbits I came across from reading as much as I could from SDCC on the various fansites...

    - The Reissue Japanese Dino cassettes were apparently NOT using the original moulds. I can't find the original source of this info, but it is claimed that the archived wooden prototypes were used to create a new batch of moulds for these reissues... so expect to see them milked a fair bit to make their money back off them.
(it also suggests that Hasbro can re-cast moulds/toolings of older toys if they want to... if it is deemed profitable enough - I wonder if we will see them or TakaraTomy digging out more of the original wooden moulds of the early years to reissue some more rarities)
I wonder why they used the original wooden prototypes, and get a set of the actual toys to use for the moulds/toolings.

    - The "lost" Botbots series 1.5 sets (Bakery Bytes and Lawn League) are still intended for release, probably later this year. It's unknown as to why they were an add-on to series 1 (with updated series 1 checklist inserts), or why they weren't released at some point before series 2 came out.
It's quite possible that they were intended to be a store exclusive, but the retailer cancelled them after they were already in production.

I've assumed for a long time they must be using a new G1 Optimus Prime mould. The original mould was replaced a long time ago by the G2 mould, but given how many times he's been reissued over the years I've assumed that G2 mould must have been replaced by now with a new mould.

There are notable mold differences with the hand and blaster rifle so that it can actually be held straight without hitting the arm. So yes definitely a different mold, and I suspect the reason the trailer wasn't included because that would be inordinately more expensive to make
On the lookout for MISB Headmaster Highbrow, Takara or Hasbro. I'm sure I could make you a sweet deal!

That's good to hear as I'm skipping the normal decos of Noizu and Gurafi in the hope there will be clear ones (since I only have the clear versions of the other two moulds).
Looking to buy lucky draw Armada Prime and Diaclone Marlboor Wheeljack.

this is exciting news, I'd love the first two tapes they released last year, without the burden of an unwanted bumblebee toy.
And I'd love to see some Re-issue love for moulds that have never been done, Mirage, Swoop, Wheeljack... the list goes on.

It occured to me that with all the hype about Unicron we forgot that there wasn't a Titan class toy announced at SDCC.

I wonder if the Seacon toys could be released as a set at the Titan price point?
