These arrived on Friday. Took a few days to get through unpacking them, and transforming all but Shockwave (so far).

25th Dinobot - worst toy so far in the 25th line. Just like Cheetor, this toy is a step backwards from the original, instead of being an improvement (as this anniversary line is supposed to be). Both modes don't resemble Dinbot from the Cartoon. The missile launcher only held the missile once, and now it is too sensitive to hold it. One to avoid if you aren't collecting all of the 25th or Henkei line.

25th Smokescreen - 3 version of this mould, as per the original Gen1 trio of toys/characters. The colours look really nice on this one, and I don't even notice the lack of modifications this toy should have gotten to reflect the original Smokescreen (racing trims).

Legends Beachcomber, Brawn, Bumblebee, Animated Starscream - Already had a Starscream, and Bumblebee is very similar to the transformation of the Animated toy. Brawn is oddly packaged with the arms pointing up by mistake (all are like this, not just mine). Beachcomber's white should have been grey like the original. It doesn't look right in white. And why does it come with a gun? He's a pacifist, and didn't have a gun with the Gen1 toy. What bugs me more though is that the gun comes off (easily, as if it is meant to for a reason), but the robot mode has no holes in the fists or arms to plug it in (hold it). Why have a removeable weapon, if it can't hold it?

Animated Swindle - I like this toy. The vehicle mode is deceptively big for a small stocky robot mode. You'd almost think from the robot mode that it wasn't a 'value' toy, but compared to Lockdown (at 113gms), Swindle weighs in at 116gms.

Animated Blazing Lockdown - some different colours and a new hat, I mean, new weapon... meh. It's the third version of this mould, so I'm not too excited about this one. I do think it is one of the more playable ones, in terms of easy transformation, without sacrificing either mode's functionality or having kibble.

Animated Skywarp and Sunstorm - both redecos of the Starscream toy that I already have, and since Sunstorm was packaged in robot mode, it may be one of those toys that I'll never end up transforming, unless I need to (at a meet or for storage). Colours of both figures aren't too bad. Pity the Bios don't match the cartoon clones.

Animated Shockwave (redeco, unnofficially labelled as a Gen1 colour scheme) - haven't transformed it yet, mostly because I'm not that impressed by its 4 modes not requiring much conversion between each mode. Even if it was just a regular 2-mode figure, it still looks like a pretty simple transformation, along the lines of Armada Megatron (lie it face-down and it's a tank...).

Oops, forgot Henkei Cyclonus - Very nice. A must have figure, no matter which version you can get your hands on. I want both 25th and Henkei for show and toy 'accurate' homages, and since Robotkingdom were always selling out of the Hasbro one all the time, I just go this one so far. The photo above doesn't have the wings folded back, but you can still see how great it looks. The jet mode isn't as cartoon accurate as the original Cyclonus toy, but the way everything is engineered to fit together perfectly in jet mode, it's an amazing toy, and fun to play with. This toy will definitely be one of my favourites for 2009.

Since none of the Hasbro figures have yet been released at retail in AUS, I'll bring a few to the Sydney meet on Sunday - Skywarp, Sunstorm, Dinobot, Smokescreen, and maybe Shockwave and Swindle (if no one else will be bringing any of these on Sunday).

Funny thing... That one box from Robotkingdom last week had more toys in it than my entire January haul.

For those wondering - the Activators Ratchet and Bumblebee will be up for grabs (cheaply) if anyone wants them. They don't have any obvious differences to the single packed ones (unlike the 4 Animated Legends toys), so I don't want them.
I gotta put together a list of my current spares, and post it before Sunday, in case anyone wants anything at the meet.

Eewww... I wasn't really intending to get these figures anyway, but that's good to know. Sounds like if anyone wants these characters they're better off getting the originals. (-_-)

Yeah... he looks more like Mirage in those colours. Seriously... from a distance you could confuse him with Robot Masters Mirage. (-_-)

    1. Although he's a pacifist he's still an Autobot warrior. He's still required to fight, although he may strongly dislike it - as do Bluestreak and Groove.
    2. None of the G1 Autobot minicars came with guns!! Universe Powerglide comes with a gun even though the original toy didn't have one.

Yeah okay, that is stupid. (;-_-)

Does yours have the problem of the belly panel being loose/floppy?

I'm not interested in any of the clones unless I can get them as Activators. The Voyager Starscream mould doesn't excite me enough to want to get repaints. (-_-)

Could you please bring Henkei Cyclonus to the meet? Omega Supreme will be bringing his Universe Cyclonus and I'd like to take side-by-side comparison photos. Oh yeah, and don't forget my Time Warrior.
