given that you live in NSW I'd expect it's an identical ruling to the regular Masterpiece megs.

It applies (see the topic here as I had my Gold Megatron seized)... because some people might be tempted to spray paint their gun gold for the bling value, and that's why the Gold Megatron would still be deemed imitation enough. If it was a fluro orange or another odd colour, then it probably wouldn't be.

I think it was shot down because of how bad it had to look just to make it legal in America... and as such they wouldn't be able to sell it to fans and regular consumers for being "ruined" or too weird to accept it as a Gen1 Megatron "reissue".

Has Hasbro ever made a Nerf gun Megatron? They'd have an excuse to make him fluoro orange and blue AND if he converted from robot into Nerf gun who WOULDN'T want one?!?! (and he'd be legal too right?)
