The Japanese version has some extra paint details, but has a lighter grey plastic, so the darker Hasbro grey plastic makes it look nicer to most.
This image has the Japanese one with the yellow paint apps on the abs.

That's pretty unfortunate, I didn't realise there was a difference, but if you ordered one and got the other that's going to need rectifying.

Yeah, I'm not sure how easy that will be to do.
