Considering how confused the original poster is about it, I doubt it is.

Didn't we used to have a member here called Finback? Maybe years and years back in the old Austrans days. <scratches chin>

The Derrick Wyatt from Animated recently revealed what happened to the protoforms, but it hasn't been clearly stated on the cartoon though.

Finback is a transfan from waaaay back. I didn't realise he was still around. And he's reliable enough, for me to think that that figure was either a wrongly packaged toy by Hasbro, or someone who imported a couple of JP versions, swapping it for a white one at TRU (the only difference to the packaging is a JP sticker, which could easily be removed).
Not being April 1st, it is highly unlikely to be a prank or hoax by Finback.

It would be great if our Toys 'R' Uses were getting the Japanese versions... for some bizarre reason.

...I think I met Finback once... maybe 11 years ago; I remember when I first met Jhiaxus there were also two other members and we all went back to my place and laughed at the StarTV dubs of Masterforce - but more importantly we also watched Beast Wars Season 2 months before it would air in Australia. We got all excited but of course, we couldn't talk about it much online since most other folks in this country hadn't seen it and didn't want spoilers. Aah, fun times. Not sure if one of those guys was Finback or not... gah!

Hmmm not a safe idea Gok. Allowing people you dont know in your house like such.... might end with a stalker ( not that you dont have one now )

Does it still take from 6 days to 3 weeks for HLJ stuff to get to Australia?

Yes, much the same as anywhere overseas that uses SAL.
Which brings us to where we are today...
