It doesn't help that American Audiences require their hand to be held all the way throughout most movies!
Any movie that requires an ounce of individual thought or imagination, is immediately deemed a flop whilst the rest of the world asks why?

Prequels, Sequels and Remakes are the flavour of the decade because originality in Hollywood comes with a price tag - that is financially and directorialy rewarding.
The only films that have come out that are 'new' ideas are ones with insane budgets and/or top name directors attached, very few movies have gone against this unless they're made outside the U.S., in which case they require thought thus dubbed flops i.e. District 9.

Akira, is an Anime classic and one of my all time favourites and does not deserve to be bastardised like The Ring, The Grudge, Bio Boosted Armour: Guyver and Dragonball Z were!!!

P.S. Ninja Scroll is F@#$ing Awesome!

Anyone pumped for Sucker Punch coming out March next year? I'm eager for it - on par or even more than TF3.

The movie stars beautiful Aussie actresses Emily Browning and Abbie Cornish (who I thought did a brilliant job as Penny in Life Support) and is directed by 300's and the Watchmen's Zack Snyder.

Just found out a girl from my year in High School (I wouldn't call her a friend because we had a few personality clashes in our time) is the producer for Griff the Invisible

In the photo of the "Back to earth for now" article, second from the left is Nicole, the girl I went to school with.

I'm reading great things about this movie: Monsters (trailer on YouTube)

Comes out soon and seems (a bit) inspired by District 9 - in a good way.

Well, the lead chick is an Aussie who played both the Red Queen in the first Resident Evil movie and the Ghost-Girl in the Ghostship Remake, so there's a reason...
