Hmmm... "everyone is wearing Vans". Sounds like when I was back at school and everyone "had to wear" Converse if they didn't want to be ostracised.

I just looked up Vans (because I'd never even heard of them either)... those are old-people shoes, that they wear at the retirement villages! And they are popular by the youngens? Sheesh... kids these days.

They were the preferred shoes by skateboarders, rockband members & those deemed cool in music or extreme sports. Thus were deemed cool.

I just know about them because of the number of times I've issued uniform violation notifications to students who wear them in school. But Chucks and Nikes are still more popular -- at least with the kids at my school.

Vans have been around this the early 90's.

I've attended the Vans Warped tour a bunch of times since it first commenced in Australia in '98!
