Started my new job today. It's down the road from my house so no more travelling an hour for work. It's also less hours and better pay. I'm home by 330 every afternoon.
    It's all win.

Congratulations Goki - Both on the fact that you've reached a collection of 1500 figures, as that's insane, but also as you happen to share the same Birth date as my Father which is both concerning and answers a number of questions.

All engines are bloody heavy when you're trying to hold them up whilst laying flat on your back underneath the vehicle and you've only got the bloody thing propped up on ramps and wheel stands and the Engine is only supported by a Block and Tackle.

I whole heartedly agree that nothing beats the sound and feeling of a Naturally Aspirated V8 engine - After an 8 grand rebuild though Loopy, that thing is bound to be a beauty!

That's excellent news dude, I'm really happy for you as that sort of thing basically doesn't happen in our region at all.

So, today I had a Job Network appointment. They want - as in are demanding - that I attend 2 weeks Intensive Job Training for 4 hours every day, where I will presumably learn all sort of useful things like not to swear at the receptionist when you go for job interviews and how to write resumes ('cos with my multiple uni degrees, one in communications, and my small-business-owner parents growing up I wouldn't know that stuff, and would have forgotten it from all the previous IJT sessions), starting next Monday.
In the meantime I fly out to start my new job as an assistant language teacher in Izumi city, Osaka, next Saturday, and so need to spend next week moving to stay with my sister in Butler, picking up a heap of Yen, my Visa, my ticket etc in Perth, closing down my AU bank accounts, and thoroughly washing all my clothes after living in a run-down dive with a pair of daily pot-smokers (I don't partake of it myself) for the past few months, before I head through four different major airports. I told the morons at [Retards-R-Us]* Employment Mirrabooka all of this but if I don't attend it anyway my Newstart allowance will be cut off and a noncompliance notice lodged against me - you're allowed up to three a year before you get cut off, though it might be as little as one these days, I don't know. They last for one year.
So, why is this in the Joy thread?

Because I lodge my last Newstart form for at least the next few years, and hopefully forever, on this Friday.

Less than two weeks and no more crippling poverty and no more dealing with bloody Centrelink for years! Sure, book me in for the next two weeks, dumkopf! Hell, book me in for all day every day for the next month! I look forward to never ever seeing you again, enjoy your soul-destroying pen-pushing bureacratic wankfest job while I'm off doing the job of my dreams!
God I hope they call me to demand to know why I haven't shown up on Monday...I'll laugh so hard I'll have even more washing to do.

Apologies to anyone here stuck behind the desk in the system btw, I know it's not your fault and it's just the system etc etc, but it's all so petty and stupid and soon I'll be free, FREE!

*Name changed for accuracy, and because as indicated above I do appreciate they're just pawns in all of this.
