Went for a swim at Towradgi rock pool at sunset this arvo. For those not familiar with God's country (aka Wollongong) said pool is here. 2kms from my house.

As I was the only one in the pool, floating on my back while looking up at the clouds turn from orange to purple to grey, I had one of those calming moments where I realised what a beautiful and awesome world we live in.

If you don't already, I strongly encourage you to get out and see it. It's right outside your door.

My Thundercracker costume helmet is working out really well for me. The head on my Shockwave was so rushed. This is the best part so far...
    Pics to come...

    Hehe, wow!

I've been getting back into Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles of late, largely due to the new Nickelodeon Cartoon series and partly due to picking up & listening to 'What The Shell: The 1st TMNT Podcast'.

I probably haven't been into TMNT this much since I was a kid with the original 80s series, so much so that (When I can organise the funds ) I'm looking to pickup the TPBs of IDW's current TMNT Ongoing series & possibly their 'Mirage Comics' Reprints - The new figures are a delight too.

Anywho... I'd mentioned all this in conversation with my parents and today my Mother informed me she had been digging around through some old photo albums, finding a pair of photos I haven't seen in many years!

These were taken circa 1989-90, when the 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles & April O'Neil' came to visit Westfield Warrawong Shopping Centre:

    Memories of a bygone joy.

Hehe... so you're the kid face painted as Raphael in the blue jacket?

Definitely some awesome nostalgic finds there!

Indeed that be I - Sadly though the mother of the 2 kids next to me (Whose names & faces I don't actually recollect ) that provided the face paint in prep for the outing to see the Turtles, only had red paint on-hand otherwise I would've certainly gone as Donatello - My fave & the best Turtle!

I had to sell pretty much all my DVDs and games in the lead-up to Christmas after losing both my partner and I losing our jobs in September, to cover bills, rent etc.

I'd gotten a few (Cloudy with a chance of meatballs, Redline, Ponyo, Shaun of the Dead, etc) back, but today I went to Cash Convertors and they still had the Beast Wars complete set I sold them. For $45, down from $65. And some guy was interested in laybuying it, so he went back downstairs to do whatever he had to do with a TV, and I snagged it up!

So, whoo! I have Beast Wars again, and it was mine all along! And the complete collection has still only cost me $70 total despite buying it twice! (The first time I got it at Borders for $30.)

That is a sad tale with a happy ending that I thoroughly enjoyed - Glad to hear man.
