I certainly am considering acquiring an original '84/85 MIB G1 Soundwave, it's something I've thought about for a long time as I'm not really set on acquiring MIB/MISB G1 figures, I simply can't afford that level of collecting , but Soundwave is someone I'd make the extra effort for.

I hear ya brother, Soundwave just deserves going the whole hog. If you can't get one from here, I'll keep looking on ebay and let you know if I find as good a deal as mine!

One day I'd really like an orginal MIB G1 Megatron too but don't know how I'm going to achieve it with the laws n all.

Well, if I don't find one in the mean time - I hope you'll consider my name if you decide to sell him dude.

He really is, especially as he is my all time fave G1 character but I appreciate you keeping your eyes out for me dude as I'll be keeping an eye on the Sales thread here for sure!

Well, I managed to import my original G1 Megatron from the states, loose but in Bot mode.
I explained the issue to the seller and he was more than happy to do this, apart from a little apprehension as he hadn't transformed it in almost 20 years , but he also plasted all over the box and declaration certificate that it was a "Plastic Toy Robot".

hey Hursti, if there is one G1 Transformer that you have to get MIB, it's Soundwave. A MIB Soundwave is a thing of beauty. Try to get one with the Buzzsaw and Soundwave missiles still on sprue if you can. There is this squarish compartment carved into the foam (behind the Soundwave box art) that you can even put casettes in. That's what I did in my childhood days.

I know how dear Soundwave is to your heart and saw your Soundwave at our meet. Definitely worth getting.

Gotta get one with unbroken foam piece, that's going to be the challenge! I took almost 3 years to find a MIB Megatron that I'm satisfied with. See here.

Even still, considering a decent MIB G1 Megatron costs in the region of $300+, that's one helluva gamble to try and bring it into a "plastic toy guns 'r' bad m'kay" country like Australia. If it's packaged in gun mode (which it obviously is if buying a MIB), how on earth would that get past customs x-ray machines? Are the Perth customs crew members of this forum?

Yeah Roy-eee! I don't have many MIB's but I too felt Soundwave was a must.

Gawd, here's hoping within another 3 years I'll be able to post one as good as that little gem.

He certainly is and that's partly the reason why I brought him along to my first ever meet.

Indeed, a complete MIB Soundwave with Buzzsaw, Styrofoam Insert, Instructions, Techspec Reader and Stickersheet is certainly what I'm after - If the missiles are still on their sprue, sweet!, if not? I wont be terribly bothered so long as they are all present and in good condition.

As for that cavity in the rear of the Styrofoam insert, that might actually come in handy as it sounds like an excellent place to store a little Soundwave Decoy.
(Another thing to add to the list )

Well, I'm no expert on the subject - but even I think this is slightly overpriced...
