I went Getter Crazy, along with Gurren & Lagann, the Red Valkyrie Fighter VH-1J? (the one that has the more Jetfire-esque head) and A dark purple bloke with a half moon on his forehead.
(I've gone Japanese Robo nuts )

All up, 6 figures for $100.10AU shipped!
I'll be shopping with HLJ a little more I thinks.

Purple guy? Sounds like one of the Sengoku Basara figures, they have all been pretty good so far, except the guy with the anchor, his arms have a tendency to fall off.

I've been picking up Revoltechs as they've gone on sale at HLJ too.

Not a fan of the Liger, I think it HLJ's price it is palatable, but it doesn't work so well and is hard to stand and pose without its stand. overall it's not a great Revoltech.

On the other hand, I picked up the new EVA 01 Revoltech 100 when it was on sale, and I can report that despite being another EVA they have definitely improved on previous EVA Revoltechs. This one has double jointed thighs, as well as improved toe joints, leg joints and wrist joints. As well mas having soft plastic sheaths that cover up some of the joint rotations. It does feature somewhat distorted tiny shoulder wings though, however this is made up for by the glow in the dark green paint they used, I was suprised to find it actually worked and the green bits do glow in the dark like the first fight scene from reboot movie one.

Yeah those Assemble Borg are pretty cool, (not my personal cup of tea), but I did have a play with some at the Kaiyodo Store, that was fun, even more so when mixed with the SciFi alien, Vash the Stampede and the Hokuto no ken figures.

I... have no idea who/what that is , but here is the figure that I'm getting.
(GR-2 (OVA) if that helps? )

    The others I'm getting:
    -Gurren & Lagann
    -Getter Dragon
    -Neo Getter 1
    -Valkyrie VF-1J Hikaru Ichijo
    -Getter Go

I'm really liking the looks of these Japanese robots, especially the transforming Revoltechs!, so I plan on getting some more in the future - Especially anything Getter related, maybe not the plain black repaints though.

Well Tetsuwan, I wish I had of read your review before ordering the Revoltech VF-1J...
(Man that thing is ridiculously fiddly and annoying)

Well, my HLJ package arrived today and with it, my first batch of Revoltechs:

Unfortunately I ran out of sunlight before I was able to take photos of them all, which you'll be able to tell with Getter Go:

I've got to say that I love the detail and poseability of these figures, bar the Valkyrie , You really do have to familiarise yourself with the Revoltech joints though and at times they can be a little tedious.
I almost put my fist through a wall when I broke one of the little prongs off of Getter Go's 'Closed Mouth' head, I put basically very little pressure on it and hell it wasn't even direct pressure and it snapped so friggin' easily... A lesson learnt though I guess.

All in all though, I'm glad I got these guys and I look forward to picking up some more in the future.
Are there any other Revoltech Japanese Robots that members would recommend?

You confused me, I see him as more black then purple, but anyway that's Giant Robo 2, brother gaint robot to Giant Robo the main mecha from the OVA anime of the same name. GR 2 appears in flash back when GR1 and his controller Disakue Kusama escapes from the evil organization Big Fire. Cervantes and GR 2 try to stop GR 1 defecting but fail. Subless link below

The 1990's Gaint Robo Day the Earth Stood Still is my favourite Anime OVA series of all time (not to be confused with the old live action series, and the 2000 boring anime series). Despite retro designs its way more clever, focused and features far better storytelling at work than most more modern looking anime. I would recommended it to anyone as a true classic of anime.

I like Getter and Mazinga too, but Gaint Robo is better. Gurren lagan just lives in all those classic series shadow in my mind.

    Anyway back to Revoltech

I have the GR 2 Revoltech too, he is pretty cool for the time he was made (some years back now) i used him as a prop when I cosplayed as Cervantes.

Most of the Super robots are pretty good, the Revoltech glossy paint and exaggerated aesthetics suit them, you probably want to get UFO Grendaizer. The other super robots. The older robots are good too, not as fancy as the new ones they don't have some of the features like double jointed necks and armour parts that fold in when the toy bends the knee. i have Shin Getter and mazin Kaiser, both are good.

As mentioned above I also found the new Eva quite Nice, the old Patlabor mechs are decent to, they lack many exciting option parts but they are good for minor Labor fans like me who don't want to shell out the big bucks.

I would avoid the Blade Liger and Eva Provisonal unit 05 though.
