Finished Lego Batman earlier today, got 100% achievements. Spent a good 30 hours or so but finally got every-single-damn thing. WOOO!!!!!
I saw the weirdest thing during Dead Space 2 multiplayer last night - one player had jet boots and was able to fly around, like Isaac can do in the single player game's zero G environments.
And I also reached the game's highest ranking. Go me.
I've spent the last 2-3 days building a DOS Gaming Rig...
(LOL, you don't hear the term Rig and DOS in the same sentence often huh?)
Currently, she's looking like this:
- CPU: 1000Mhz, Genuine Intel Pentium III
- RAM: 512Mb SDRAM
- Motherboard: Intel D815EGEW
- Sound Card: Intel (SoundMAX) 82801BA/BAM AC'97 (Onboard)
- NIC: Intel PRO/100 VE (Onboard) 10/100Mb/s Ethernet
- HDD: Maxtor 6L020J1 - 20Gb
- Optical Drive: Samsung SH-W08A DVD-R/RW
- Removable Drive: 3.5" Floppy & 2x USB 1.1 ports
- Speakers: Logitech Is11 Stereo Speakers
- Monitor: 15" LG Flatron L1510S
- Keyboard: ... Yep!
(USB to PS/2)
- Mouse: Laser 3DO-U Optical Mouse (USB to PS/2)
- O/S: Dual-booted, Microsoft Windows 98SE (Unofficial Service Pack 2.1a) & Windows XP Home Edition w/ Service Pack 3.
So far I've got running Doom 2, Hexen, Duke 3D Atomic, Quake 1 & 2; they all run quite brilliantly but I'm trying to weed out some persistently annoying DOS based sound issues, namely, trying to get Wolfenstein 3D to actually recognise the onboard sound card (Unlike later games it doesn't have a setup/install.exe) and putting an end to the Soundblaster (Compatible) and/or Midi channels going all berserk from time to time (Sound/Music becomes delayed and/or distorted/muffled).
Having recently finished some contracted I.T. work, this is what boredom and a passion for PC gaming's "yester-year" will produce.
P.S. Now to go and burn those Blood and Redneck Rampage images...![]()

Took me the whole afternoon today to finish the Single PLayer Campaign of Battlefield 3. Very short, but so much more intense.
As for the multiplayer, dabbed into it a bit and man, it's addictive stuff. Better stay off of it otherwise I'll forget my gym membership!!!
Hehe, you wouldn't be the first dude, congrats on the new rig and completion of BF3 - the last game I played to death of that series was BF: 1942...
Argh! - looks like I'm going to have to try and track down a genuine Creative Labs 16bit Soundcard for my DOS rig, stupid cheap Intel onboard crap just can't hack the job... in DOS.
Might also consider trying to track down an AGP Geforce 1 or 2 MX too!, the Intel onboard Graphics Adapter with 4Mb onboard VRAM is just sitting back and laughing at me.
Why-oh-why did I clear out all the spare parts I'd kept over the past 10 or so years?...![]()

Started playing Skyward Sword yesterday. I was enjoying it, but it takes too long to get going. Many games seem to do this, I know they have to set the world up etc etc, but I felt like I had 10 minutes of gameplay, but the game clock thinks I have been playing for an hour or so.
Surely there is a better way. Anyway, now I have the sword and shield and can get off the island for some proper Zelda action! The sword thing seems quite interesting, except not putting the sword when you just go for a walk in a dungeon area Link ends up pointing his sword off lookng generally weird. Good for a laugh. The back ground graphics look nice and I like the oil painting sort of style they have gone for, but the faces are a bit ugly.
Gotta get some more in now.

My thoughts exactly. Finally got a Wii for Christmas (pretty much so that I can play Skyward Sword) and felt really bored and unexcited by the slow start-up, but once you (finally) get your tunic and star truly exploring it becomes like the Zelda games we know and love.
BTW - having just got a Wii, what games should I get for it? I have no XBox or PS3.
Bought Modern Warfare 2, installed it. Then opened up Steam, have to download the update. Which is 11GB.
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU UUUUUUUUUUU
WHAT WAS THE POINT OF INSTALLING IT IN THE FIRST PLACE THEN!?!?!> RARHGHGH!!
