It's funny how well these figures have been received by us on this forum. Yet compare our reaction with the reaction on Seibertron and Tformers - they're all up in arms about how aweful, eye-burning, pointless it is!

Is it just because we were lucky enough to actually get these figures? Are the americans just spoiled? Or is it something different?

A lot of people complaining on those boards are geewunners. They don't accept anything beyond 1986.

Another thing is that they are missing the point to what an exclusive is. Its meaningless to those who don't care about EuroG1/G2 so no loss to them. However it's got novelty value for those who know and enjoy the Euro G1/G2 characters. That is what an exclusive should be. It's aimed at an exclusive crowd not for mass appeal.

Oh come on, this has to be the definition of an acquired taste. If Transformers held a mardi gras that Pyro would be leading the way on the front float.

He would be the front float

I quite like the look of this repaint though, I did like G2 figures in general anyway.

I wonder if they will change their minds when the other figures are revealed?, I'm all for G1 but things have to evolve to survive, hell look at that Tramp Barbie.

Well what can she do Ken turned out to be rooting for her team as well

I wonder which mold gets to be redone into Clench, that would be very interesting. I like the concept, but then I like G2 even if it blinds your eyes.

Well for the sake of balance I'll say these toys are completely painfull to the eye, and they don't really interest me. However I don't really like picking up toys that are expensive due soely to their being exclusive anyway.

Having said that I think this is the perfect sort of niche that convention exclusives should be aiming for, I mean look what's happened recently with fans being upset about Henkei and now Hasbro Thrust. I'm pretty sure Hasbro wont be releasing classics/universe/generations Clench anytime soon.

I think their colors are horrible and painful to the eye but that is why I like them

It wouldn't be a good Pyro tribute without that. The point is to represent that era of the toyline and the bright colors are a must as far as the early 90s go.

For some reason some misguided marketeer thought that because the kid's fashion trend during that time was all bright dayglo colors that toys painted that way would be of appeal to kids. Talk about misinterpreting trends!

Haha, someone will have to do a photoshop once he's released.

I love the Euro TF'ers like the Turbomasters but this one is a little too OTT for my liking. Still, it's certainly very different!
