Ya know... part of me is tempted to buy a Generations Thrust just to support Hasbro and encourage them to release Dirge. But I don't need or want a second Thrust. Meh... I might keep it sealed or give it away as a gift.

If I do choose to give it away, it'll probably be a prize for some competition.

Is it just me, or does it look Nicer than the Henkei version? And thirty bucks is much easier on the wallet than Ebay prices for Henkei and Botcon Thrust.

Fingers crossed for a Dirge and a Thundercracker. Please Hasbro?

It is much nicer than the Henkei version. The Henkei suffers from those stupid stripes.

Dirge is an eventuality I think its just a matter of when. However I am not sure about Thundercracker as that mold has been release a lot and the latter ones showed signs of mold degradation.

Universe Thrust, I like better than Henkei, stupid stripes

On my Thundercracker, I have noticed said degradation. Mine has some slight imperfections on the plascitc on the shins, and the launchers don't seem to hold in tight on the arms. Easy fix was to use some clear nail polish on the pegs though

To be honest I'm pretty annoyed about this. I'd much prefer it if I hadn't bought the extremely expensive Japanese one, but no, Hasbro kept this under wraps. If you're going to bring out a $30 version of a mould, tell the fans! I understand they wouldn't, but seriously, I wasted a lot of money on what appears to be the inferior product.

I paid $150 to get both Henkei Thrust and Dirge, and I prefer the Generations Thrust. And I will still buy it. I didn't get too bothered about Hasbro releasing Thrust. I think they kept it under wraps to see how the market was for people buying the damn expensive ones. Gauging that they thought they should release their one. Similar situation was with MP Grimlock, I mean, how many of us bought the TakTom version when Hasbro said it was unlikely they would do one? I got a little annoyed when they announced their's, but when it comes down to it, I have him now and not too fussed about it. Same as I think people will get over Thrust being released.

I agree with those expressing frustration with the announced release of both MP Grimlock and Generations Thrust.

As someone who has been lucky to acquire what I have on the very small amount of money that I've got, I sympathize with your pain but that being said for collectors in my position this is a great opportunity to acquire said figures for hopefully a smaller price tag, though if TRU have anything to do with it...

I do hope we see Thundercracker though, being that the Revised Universe seeker mold does seem to be suffering degradation, I've seen 1AZRAEL1's Henkei Thundercracker in person, then hopefully Has/TakTom will use their collective minds and just repaint the original classics seeker mold.

Does anyone here think that if MP Grimlock were to sell here, especially as a TRU Exclusive, that it would retail for $165 or less? Cos otherwise you wouldn't have saved much by importing the Japanese version anyway (i.e. approximate same price, only you get the toy a lot earlier!). And we've yet to see what changes Hasbro will make to their MP Grimlock if any.

Hasbro didn't release Gentei Thrust, TakaraTOMY did. Remember that both companies are legally bound NOT to interfere with each other's markets. Also, I doubt that Hasbro had any plans for Generations Thrust at the time TakaraTOMY released Gentei Thrust... and again, even if they did, they're not supposed to notify their consumers as it might be construed as interfering with TakaraTOMY's market.

Dude... you can't get mad at Hasbro for not predicting the future for you. I seriously doubt that Hasbro had ANY plans on releasing Generations Thrust at the time that Gentei Thrust came out.

And nobody would blame us for getting Gentei Thrust. After all, Hasbro had previously cancelled any plans of releasing a Classics Thrust back in 2006 which prompted BotCon organisers to release the toy (alongside Thundercracker and Dirge) as exclusives and TakaraTOMY did likewise with the Genteis.

    Perhaps you could consider:
+ Selling your Gentei Thrust now and grab yourself a Generations Thrust later. Not sure how much a loose Gentei Thrust goes for now, but surely you'd be able to sell an exclusive Japanese toy like that for at LEAST $30, which would pay for your Generations Thrust.
+ Putting your Gentei Thrust back in its packaging and displaying it on card while having a Generations version to play with loose. Or maybe keeping the Generations one MOSC.

    <shrugs> just some suggestions.

I'm personally thrilled about the news -- even if I don't need Thrust, it's still bloody great news to see the character being FINALLY released in its "Classics" form for the mass market!
