Glad the original version at least isn't all crummy. I got mine via Amazon like a lot of forum members, and it seemed like Tetsuwan Convoy was also experiencing the same issue with Brawl's feet, so it appears to be a common QC issue with this variant at least (probably in the rush to get it to retail).

I'm not sure if I can be bothered with returning to Amazon so they could return it to Hasbro and get back to me -- assuming that back and forth may take 6-8 weeks if I'm lucky.
