I don't really want to buy this, but the semi-formed Devastator there is making it hard to ignore.

My main concern is the stability of the combined form.

I think I know what you mean , it will no doubt end up very articulated in combined-mode and that is where the problem 'may' lie.
I reckon they'll probably do some weight testing and such and if required, certain joints may require stronger ratcheting but we'll just have to wait and see.

My only gripe so far is that, whilst I'm aware they're trying to attempt 'Kibble-Free' figures, the chest area just looks... I don't know, empty? - Devy really needs his Chestplate IMO and then that 3rd Party figure would be 'The Tits!' - (by Eric Cartman).

Agree with both points, he really does need that winged chestplate thing. I'm still intrigued by it (and the Reflector), anyone know what the best way to get a hold of the figures would be? Robot Kingdom? Gonna be pricey...

I think I've said this before, but I'll be surprised if they don't release a chestplate, considering how they seem to be adhering pretty strongly to how the original G1 Devy looked.

But even if they don't, I can guarantee that another third party company will release one for it. You can't swing a cat without hitting a new third party company nowadays

The Chest Plate is Scrapper's vehicle mode's wings so maybe we need to wait until that component is revealed.

Looks nice, but considering the size I dread the price, not to mention any QC issues will be no laughing matter if it ends up a fortune.

It would be better if they releases the components bit by bit so people had an idea of what they were signing up for.

Looks awesome, will be pretty big too and when something is big it is expensive, so fingers crossed would really like to get this. Also is this going to be a tfclub exclusive?
