Another gimmick revealed - Hot Rodimus' windshield flips open like in TF:TM as reported here.

I think the link also says that the base requires 10 points ... maybe since i don't know Japanese.
Recent Acquisitions: Missing Link Optimus, Bumblebee, Cliffjumper
    (Pre-)ordered: Missing Link Sunstreaker, Arcee
    Wants: Encore Headmasters!

Really digging that shade of orange-red they've used.
I'm really just here for the free food and open bar.

Yup... 10 points are needed to get the base.

as part of the 2010 TakaraTomy celebration? when you buy certain Transformers (in my case Crystal Animated Optimus + Rodimus) there is a little square on the packaging with a number of points (mine was 1pt)

I think things like Unicron and Primus give more points.

Basically from what I read, you need a resident of japan to redeem the points to get the special base for MP Rodimus. I think its like the Hasbro version of MP Optimus with the sound effects (someone who knows better can correct me if need be)

Inside the Takara/Tomy 2010 figures are "points" that can be traded for that big base dealio. Buy all the 2010 toys, send in the points and a small fee for shipping and you get the talky base thingy. A repaint of the Base that came with Movie 20th Anniversary Masterpiece Optimus, with Japanese dialogue.

    Ah!

Ok, cheers guys, I was confused for a bit because I thought when you guys were referring to a "Base", I thought you meant MP Rodimus' Trailer...
That's certainly a cool throw back to the G1 Mail-in days, I wonder how many people will be willing to cut up their packaging though?

I suspect that the robot points will probably be printed on an inside box flap rather than anywhere on the outside of the box. This has been TakaraTOMY's standard practice since Beast Wars.
