    Thumbs up Greatest TF purchase?

On the flipside of SkyWarp91's thread: Most disappointing TF purchase?

Your greatest purchase? Whether it be because of an awesome price, great playability and/or poseability, whatever. What’s yours?

    -

Personally, I have three figures that I would pick, if only because of how much fun they were as soon as I got them out of their boxes:

Animated Leader Class Megatron and Animated Leader Class Bulkhead! I got both of them $35 each when Toys 'R' Us had that sale the other month (can’t remember when). As well as a good price they're surprisingly fun to play with! x3

And Animated Deluxe Class Prowl! He refuses to stand normally, but he makes up for this by being super easy to pose in epic Cyber-ninja poses. And I quite like his vehicle mode… *spazzes* which can stay upright on the little flip-out kick-stand! x3

But yes, your stories are probably a bit more interesting than that, so Let’s hear ‘em!

    ...
(Unless this has already been done... >3>; It hasn't, has it??)

Hmm, there's a few that spring to mind but these are the ones that I've been most pleased with.

Complete G1 Grotusque & Doublecross - AU$70 inc. shipping (these had some mild yellowing but thanks to the power of H202 they're now perfect)

MIB Complete G1 Optimus Prime - AU$110 inc. shipping

G1 BUmblejumper for $30 which I consider cheap coz this guy goes for well above $100 despite his size. Next would be a BIN lot of G1's from ebay , years back for IIRC less than $100. As far as I recall this lot had Dreadwind, Darkwing - loose but all accessories there, Seacon Overbite complete- last seacon I needed to boot at that time!, a couple of G1 minibots, Misfire with TM partner, A couple of Decepticon pretenders, some scramble city bots, G1 prime complete loose ( sticker wear only) and some G1 loose weapons as well..... nowadays I dont think I can find another good lot as prices have soared for TFs extremely

I may consider G2 Orange constructicons as well- which is to my pleasant surprise apparently quite more expensive than the originals nowadays. To think I only bought them coz during those days ( G2 era) I have no access to the net and was on a meager student allowance. I really wanted the green originals but yeah during those days. when they're gone from the shelves I cant find them anywhere anymore. Now they're common as - the green constructicons that is...

I do have a couple of surprise purchases which are quite cheap during my hunts at Parramatta fair and the net but their not the greatest, mostly cheapest heheh like the $8 Triggerhappy ( sans the TM partner), $10 MISC Needlenose, $10 Ironfist - loose complete
Wanted AM partner Vanguard, Myclones Dirge, G1 Victory Leo, e-hobby Dark scream ( the black version), e-hobby Magnificus
Parts- AM partner Basher-side guns, G1 Actionmaster Elite Windmill's blades[I][B]

    Hmm...

This is actually quite a tough one...

I'd have to say... that my greatest purchase... was... not technically my purchase

Thanks to 1AZRAEL1 doing some great sourcing and procuring, he acquired for me my entire Beast Wars collection from the U.S and allowed me to pay him back, taking 2 years , the $700AUD it cost to buy them and have them, plus a large number of Beast Machines and a couple of RiD figures that were thrown in for free, shipped over here.

The awesome thing? he didn't even tell me that he had done it!
He just showed up at my place one day with a box almost as big as him and said "Here you go". ...
The next 4 hours were spent exploring the treasures within...
As it turned out, it contained the entire Western release of Beast Wars figures save for a couple of Fox Kids Repaints and the Mutant figures that don't have a Bot mode.
It made up for what was missing though with a number of Japanese exclusives plus all the bonus figures previously mentioned and a pair of Convention Exclusive female RiD Decepticons (names escape me).

That's how you know a Best Mate, he had watched me for months struggling to acquire complete/near complete Beast Wars figures and knew that at the time I didn't have a lot of money and knew how much Beast Wars and Transformers in general meant to me.

It's probably not my greatest TF purchase really, but it was easily the greatest TF present I've received in my life, that's for sure!

Wow, Hursty. If a freind of mine had done that to me I think i would've asked him to marry me then and there. That's just an awesome example of freindship.

My greatest TF purchase would've had to have been walking into Target and finding MP-04 for sale. I was absolutely floored to find my (At that current time) Holy Grail for sale at $200. (It went on sale for $150 a month later, but still!) A lot of People complain about the Quality of that particular run but he was perfect. A great day for me.

I would've TB, but I think he prefers his Fiancée.
(What's weirder you may ask? I'm born on the 6th of June - He's born on the 7th...)

I know how you feel about MP-04 at Target, 2 months of Lay-By payments but yeah, absolutely perfect.

It would have to be Masterpiece Optimus Prime and Classics Bumblebee for me.

Not because of the price, but I feel these figures really evoke something of the excitement that I had for Transformers as a kid.
