Default Airraptor's 15 minutes of fame

My uni has a student magazine, called Grapeshot, which has an arts section. They accept submissions from students. A while ago I submitted a photo I took of Airraptor on the birdbath in the garden.

It got published in this month's edition of Grapeshot. You can see the photo here.

After being released as a filler toy and getting vaporised in his second comic issue, Airraptor is finally getting a spot in the limelight, if only in a uni magazine.

Instead of taking photos of toys you should be trying to track down the frank and lovely author of this little piece of journalism at your uni!

I read the first couple of lines and thought: "Somebody really wanted to make this public? and somebody wanted to publish it?" - WTF?

Heh, I once published an article about Beast Wars in my university magazine (cos Beast Wars current at the time... shows my age ).

It's just a student rag - not a formal academic publication like a thesis or something. (-_-)

But yes... that second article was kinda... strange. As an article in Tharunka once said, universities are meant to be places where you're supposed to be getting an education... not to pick up. (not saying that you can't or shouldn't, but education ought to be one's main priority on campus).

If only everyone thought like you. Thats what i think but everyone just seems to hang out at the UniBar.

On a separate note It's funny that this started out as a discussion on Airraptors 15 minutes of fame and the main focus is an article written by a woman complaining about the lack of 'Hook-ups' available

...I wonder how many of those students ended up graduating.

Perhaps we can salvage this thread by discussing any other university magazine articles featuring or written about Transformers.

I can't remember much about the article I co-wrote for my uni mag, but I do remember we had an image of Optimus Prime next to Optimus Primal, with Prime saying, "Beep beep! I run over pedestrians!" and Primal saying, "I throw my own faeces!"

Perhaps to extend Airraptor's 15 minutes of fame and evolve him into a fan favourite character whose very image becomes one of the most iconic visages of popular culture we could get Shane McCarthy to write a comic about him.
