My eyes, my eyes!!! very big bling there dirge!!

Hmmm acquisition of the year, hmmm there's been quite a lot.well thinking it through , here they are in their order...

    1. G1 Wreckgar - which was given to me by a co-worker why him? well, he is... was the last figure I needed to complete my G1 (US released) figures and this year I finally achieved that (last April)... it also makes my G1 collecting kinda meaningful that it has come full circle - I got my very first figure (Soundwave & Buzzsaw) free from my aunt, and my very last G1 figure (needed) was also given to me free - full circle - whatever G1 figs I buy now is more of just to improve the existing one I have - mebbe better condition than the one I have now but finally it's done and complete.

    2. Jap G1 TFs (Star Saber, Liokaiser giftset and Dezsaras)- never thought Id venture to the expensive realm of Jap G1s but hey why not hehehe? With the help of kelvinchang99 I finally got started, though if this will be pursued in earnest as US based G1 - nah I think not - too pricy, Ill buy whenever there's a good opportunity and enough dough to throw around. These guys top it off for most expensive purchase for me this year... and I got it for bargain price - thank goodness!!

    3. 3rd party products - Munitioner, Explorer and Protector - unofficial they may be, these are quality beautiful toys and Im happy and proud to own em.

    4. Euro G1 Slicer - this toy has given me such a traumatic episode in dealing with sellers in ebay - first time ever to go Paypal claiming. The heartache and anger I experienced just to get this freakin simple toy has made a mark in my mind so he counts even though the experience is not a good one, which is why I really value this one AM very much.

    5. accessories - Bomb-burst's left wing shoulder pad - weird ei? but yeah this tops MP grimlock - which I bought and is my 6th in the list. Why - it just bugged me to no end really, but it took 3 years of trying to find this freakin accessory. I usually am quite lucky finding stuff in Parra fair and online and I was not willing to buy a whole new Bomb-burst just for this part - for three years I patiently waited for one to show up - and thanks to fatbot finally, finally my basic pretenders is complete!! it's like getting a whole new toy the other was Broadside's missles - same as above hehehehe. Finally found it online- it almost got lost in the mail and had to email the seller where the heck is the item ... good thing it showed up or it wouldve been another Paypal case and more years of trawling the web for two little missles. There are other still accessories I need but these two really bugged me when I look at the figure and they don't have em.

For me it was getting Overlord. I got the Hasbro version and was really impressed with it. I'd been watching Masterforce but I don't think I'd ever seen the toy in person before. It looks awesome, big, was in perfect and complete condition and the multiple modes are all fun.

I have to say mine was Masterpiece Grimlock, just because of all the drama surrounding getting this toy! To recap:
+ MP Grimlock came out last year in Japan, but shortly before my daughter was due to be born. So given the rather hefty RRP on the toy, I skipped it.
+ I walked into Hasbro's office, then located in Eastwood, asking if they had any plans of releasing MP Grimlock in Australia. They took down my contact details and told me that they'd get back to me. I was told that MP Grimlock would _not_ be released here and pretty much advised that if I wanted one my best bet would be to get one from Japan.
+ TOMY releases their limited edition MP Grimlock - featuring an awesome crown, but in what I consider awful Nel Yomtov inspired colours. Blecch.
+ Come 2010, Hasbro releases MP Grimlock at TRU here. It has nice G1-toy-accurate colours and the crown. Sweet! Still quite expensive though, but oh well.

Easily Fansproject's Munitioner & Explorer for me. Brilliant figures, great articulation, aesthetics & transformations. Easily the best representation of Blastoff we've ever had, and arguably Swindle too (Animated Swindle is pretty neat). But most of all, it turns the mediocre... nay, pathetic Bruticus Maximus into my favourite Decepticon of my entire classics collection.
