im almost thinking of getting two sets now
one set to keep original and the other set to customise into something that i think pays a better homage in my opinion to the G1 stunticons although atm i would only change Drag Strip and Wildrider, im pretty happy with the other two

I don't think anyone is saying that they are the Gen1 Stunticons. They're comparing/contrasting to the Gen1 Stunticons because that's who they are homaging. I think the question being asked is if they are the only Stunticons (in Animated) to see how they compare to Gen1 Stunticons, or are just five of a much larger faction/subgroup.
Most of the Animated characters have been homages to the G1 (and others) characters/concepts, often replicating colours and design elements quite well. Prowl is the really big exception because he was part of the original cast, and would have been designed before they went down the 'homage everything' track.

looking at it from that point of view is a great way to think about it. i have to say that the arcee/drag strip did throw me but im starting to come around on it. who else agrees that wreck gar would make a better motor master mold? dont botcon have a history of using the same molds for diffrernt charecters at the same botcon (like skyquake & leozack)? i wonder what else they will come up with? paradon medic with the arcee mold? maybe a sideswipe with the rodimus mold? its series 3.5 yeah? what other charecters will be outside the box?

I do, as I've been saying this since the beginning - A repainted Prime would look incredibly half-arsed IMO as no amount of paint can make that look remotely like a decent Motormaster, IMO.

i agree and it will be something different than just another prime repaint, besides it will just look like another nemesis prime repaint if they go for a black but who knows

and as long as they do a big enough remould of it so he doesnt look like a garbage truck i'll be very happy indeed, but i dont like my chances

Rumour at TFW2005 is Toxitron from a Prime mould. I'd prefer to see him done from Wreck-Gar, like Jin Saotome's custom.

I think Wreck gar would be pretty good but I reckon Ultra Magnus would be better!, but not so likely that they'll use a leader mold.

thats exactly what i think, a little bit of retooling so it looks like a truck and less like a garbage scow. now what about samurai prowl for groove?

Troop builder 3 pack of Autotroopers - Deluxe class Ironhide or Ratchet body
Shattered Glass Galvatron - from Evac mold/remold
Ironfist - Ironhide (unknown if this is from Classics Ironhide or TFA Ironhide)
Animated G2 Sideswipe - BotCon TFA Dead End mold used again

Cybertron Evac is a strange choice for SG Galvatron, but I suppose it does fit with the story of the SG universe

SG Galvatron as an Evac repaint has been featured in the Club comic (based on a fan repaint I believe) so it's possibly a 50/50 chance. It's the one from the list that seems most likely to me.
