    Default custom IDW Fortress Maximus

Of course the week I start making this my G1 Encore version arrives....

It's a cross between IDW and G1. It was made from a Cybertron Metroplex figure with a Transformers TFC Junkion Blacksmith Ultra Magnus headmaster, modified to look like Cerebros.

Something about the arms bugs me but I can't put my finger on it.

Alt mode isn't much but then again neither was Metroplex's!

I like it, the work you've done on the head is great.

Your problem with the arms might be a length thing, it seems to me that the legs might be a little long, but that's just my view from your photos.

What Ultra said. Could be the legs are a little too long. But great work on the head.

Could you post a pic of the legs in the shorter mode please? I think that may solve the issue.

Great paint apps, cannot see a single brush or spray line!

Thanks for the feedback. Here's a pic with the legs folded up, but without any painting touch-ups.

I know technically the torso should also be transformed but I like the way it is.
I think the longer legs evoke Fortress Maximus more than the folded up legs, but I also like the squatter, more powerful vibe the shorter legs create for me.

    Your thoughts?

I think the torso looks too long with the shorter legs. Maybe a bit of colour on the arms to make them appear longer somehow would do the trick? Don't ask me waht though

I think the 'wrist elbows' alsobmake the arms look a bit funky too somehow.

Forearms are too short. I think if you made the hands into part of the forearm and then attached new fists on the end they would scale a lot better.

Having said that, you've done a good job on him.

I don't know if I like the torso folded up.... his stomach is a bit gappy now and I don't like the way his head sits up above his chest...plus his head flaps can't fold down flat.... I think I'll go with the second option I showed earlier.

You know folded up like that he looks sort of, "Ultra Magnus-y"
