The Transformers universe is actually a multiverse - i.e.: multiple universes. There are certain multiversal singularities within these multiverses (e.g. Unicron), but they are otherwise separate worlds. Though as excelonzero said, are parallel worlds. The Shattered Glass universe is an example of a mirrored parallel world.
This is a contradiction created by Simon Furman because in the G1 comics it's stated that Prima is the first heir to the Matrix, and thus assumed to be the first of Primus' 13 children. Later on when Furman wrote "Reaching the Omega Point," there is a recount of the Liege Maximo tearing the Matrix out of Primon's chest.Originally Posted by Verno
Some postulate that Primon is an incredibly ancient being who may not only predate Prima, but possibly predate the creation of Cybertron itself (remembering that Cybertron was originally an organic world - something which has been established across at least two universes (and is probably another multiversal singularity).
In the G1 comics Optimus Prime inherited the Matrix from Sentinel Prime, whereas in the G1 cartoon Alpha Trion rebuilt Orion Pax as Optimus Prime and gave him the Matrix. So both accounts are correct but come from different universes.Originally Posted by Verno
Again - multiverse.Originally Posted by Verno
Also, in G1 it was Prime Nova, not Nova Prime. Nova Prime is the name of a character from IDW's G1 universe - possibly the same character but varied name. Nova Prime became Nemesis Prime after he and the crew of his Ark fell to a blasphemous state of undeath after travelling to
Hellthe Dead Universe.
The advantage of having a universe written by one writer at the one time!Originally Posted by Verno
The reason why the Transformers multiverse is so convoluted of course is that it's been written over a period of 25 years by several different writers, some of whom didn't bother to confer with other writers about what they were doing. e.g.: Bob Budiansky didn't confer with Simon Furman (Furman had to retcon things when Budiansky would later contradict him, e.g.: clone Megatron) etc.
