But I personally found AHM as a whole to be quite a fun read. Moreso than than the Marvel re-releases. I also find all the talk of it being a reboot kinda annoying as you read it and see how much is tied in with what Furman had written before. I feel it's more of a redirection of the franchise.
I can see how the initial sense of mystery that they were trying to convey would haveb annoyed a lot of people, but in the end all the answers tied back to the groundwork that Furman had already laid. The one thing that annoyed me is that Megatron, for no apparent reason, no longer stuck to the previous idea of Infiltration phases. Part of me wants to know why Megatron did this, but the other part of me knows I never will.
I actually have more of an issue of how the current ongoing series relates with the previous work (including AHM) than I did relating AHM to the Infiltration series. But maybe that's because I read it as a TPB.
As for Don Fig winning best art. I actually find I've enjoyed EJ Su's and Guido Guidi's art a lot more than his over the last couple of years. And Nick Roche's art has always been fun and expressive. Sure Don's art is more intricate and detailed but that isn't always a good thing...
