Multiplayer games ARE being hosted by an "actual person". There are no WFC servers.

Well, maybe there are dedicated servers around for the PC version but I don't know.

There has to be, because one weekend, the screen came up with a dialogue box saying that the WFC server was down... and it wouldn't let me even access the menues for Multi-player and Escalation. The only thing I could access for several hours was the single player Campaign part of the game.
My thinking is that people are just hosting the games on the WFC server, like a temporary resident, or like someone renting a function room for a meeting, but when the host leaves, or is removed from the venue, the whole party has to leave too.

And Sleeve - sorry to hear that, it happened to me a few days before I did get past wave 15... I wasn't happy either.
I've also been spending a fair bit of time on Escalation, trying to see if I can get to wave 15 as a solo player - have managed to get to wave 11 so far, twice, in Broken Hope. (the first time, I died because I couldn't hold off taking a leak any longer... )

After finding a set of youtube vids to get the Logo locations, I've now only got six trophies left (all multi-player), to earn the Platinum on PS3.
Unfortunately, I need to get prime mode to do that, and that's gonna take some time...

+1... except the bit about playing online. Haven't fired up the disc for a couple of months now.

I'm trying to most days, but I'm finding that our mid-morning (east coast) is now the required time to play, or else there aren't enough American people playing to activate more than Team Deathmatch. All the other games seem to not have enough people to start them (most need 4 to start).

As Saintly mentioned, multi-player campaign (with or without others) with points, helps gain more trophies at once.
I also found that playing with others (join or host a public game), makes it easier to get through certain difficult stages... but if you get a noob, it can be a lot harder, as the game has to restart everytime someone dies.

Thanks Griffin. It makes sense. Also explains why there is more action on weekends when they stay up late.
