Erm cant remember where I heard this but I think they lost the mold for Rattrap as well which is why the 10th anniversary ended up being the transmetal version of Rattrap.... again Im not 100% sure. Hence no rerelease of original Rattrap.

So far gdmetro , Verno is the only seller here Ive seen "specializing" in BW stuff, Skyshadow has MISC stuff too I believe - Blackarachnia was it?(jap version). Price range wise I cant contribute any sorry as Im not much into BW. I do collect em (nearing completion) but only 1 representation of each character - that of their transmetal (as much as possible) versions except when there's none (Fuzors) or if I prefer their non transmetal version (Inferno). You sure you want carded stuff? , that may be hard to find (or too pricey), prolly get piecemeal man. Get a complete figure then get the card backing _ for MIC/MIB but Im sure those 2 and others here can point you in the right direction on where to find stuff.

I wish you the best of luck in this endeavor as it is always great to have something to aim in this hobby of ours. I admit Im finding myself kinda lackluster with the TF collecting hobby since Ive finished (with the exception of a few items in my sig) G1 (US release) and have only TM Tigatron and X9- ravage( pretty darn Expensive buggers - so no hurry)Luckily there's other toys to collect heheheeh.

If I do come across stuff in my e-bay or toy searches Ill be sure to pm it to you.

For show accuracy, the Telemocha are the way to go. I've got a set of them and they are very impressive.

The Hasbro 10th Anniversary repaints are hit and miss. The Tarantulas is good but the Dinobot is horrific.

I've got a few of the originals for sale. Blatant plug.

But I say have a look at the telemochas first and see what you think.
Thanks. Looked through your thread and it seems I could get a bunch of s1 figures loose which is really tempting. Telemocha seem really rare- if not on ebay. They seem to align with what I am looking for but also not... I think if they are this rare despite being released in 2007 I might have to go for u.s. version originals- which are kind of what I wanted in the first place.

Can I be greedy and ask for pics of these telemochas?- If anything, the one fig I would want is telemocha Dinobot!! That guy looks TOO sweet.

If that's the case.. wow won't even bother looking for a mosc original.. can't imagine what that would cost!!

Thanks Liege- really appreciate all the advice you've given me (esp at fairs).
I'm just trying to figure out what I want and what is reasonable to go for- might be good to go for loose- carded goal is a harder goal and will take longer but be more satisfying. I grew up with these toys on the shelves and could never find many opportunities to grab these figures as a kid... same with the g1 guys who want sealed.

Ultimately, I want to display these guys in package- won't really play with em' - (sorry Gok). I will definitely get MIB megas and ultras- so I can still have a fiddle before putting back in box- really want to play with an optimal optimus same as the one I saw tower down at me in Burwood Grace Bros. back in 1998!!!

The first 2 figures I want to definitely hunt for w/o compromise are:

    1) MOSC Original Dinobot- This is the only BW figure and one of handful of figs I ever got from my parents whilst shopping with them on a whim. Other gifts were always from aunts/relatives/sister on bdays/xmas. I still remember- was at Target Burwood and I saw BW figs, asked if I could get one preparing to get a "no", and by some divine miracle my parents said yes. I scoured through and found a dinobot!!! Also as you can guess, my favourite character from the show. Too bad he was dumped in the trash/some lucky **** got my bag of BWs/power rangers stuff perhaps from a thrift store? cause my aunt whilst cleaning our garage didn't know and boom went all my childhood.

    2) MIB Optimal Optimus- for the very reason mentioned above.

Here's my visual guide of show characters.

    Season 1:

    Optimus Primal (Ultra)
    Megatron (Ultra)
    Rattrap (Basic)
    Terrorsaur (Basic)
    Airazor (Basic)
    Rhinox (Deluxe)
    Scorponok (Mega)
    Dinobot (Deluxe)
    Inferno (Mega)
    Blackarachnia (Deluxe)
    Cheetor (Deluxe)
    Tarantulas (Deluxe)
    Tigatron (Deluxe)

    Season 2:

    Rampage (Ultra)
    Ravage (Deluxe)
    Transmutate (Build-Figure)
    Transmetal Optimus Primal (Mega)
    Silverbolt (Deluxe)
    Transmetal Cheetor (Deluxe)
    Transmetal Tarantulas (Deluxe)
    Transmetal Rattrap (Deluxe)
    Quickstrike (Basic)
    Transmetal Megatron (Mega)
Not Pictured: Tripredacus (Cicadacon, Ram Horn & Sea Clamp)

    Season 3

    Depth Charge (Ultra)
    Tigerhawk (Ultra)
    Transmetal 2 Megatron (Ultra)
    Optimal Optimus (Super)
    Transmetal 2 Blackarachnia (Mega)
    Transmetal 2 Cheetor (Deluxe)
    Transmetal 2 Dinobot (Deluxe)

    -------------------------------------
As for which version... just get whatever's easier/cheaper for you. The originals are great and most of the reissues are pretty good too. The only toy I would recommend avoiding is Hasbro's Transmetal Megatron as that toy is notoriously well known for suffering from brittle brown plastic syndrome. For Transmetal Megatron I'd highly recommend getting Takara's Metals Megatron instead as it has better quality plastic that's less likely to crumble on you.

    Good hunting.

Telemocha Pic If you go right to the bottom of the post, there is one small pic of the Telemochas I've got. You can see some of the beautiful detail on them.

TRANSFORMERS: DEICIDE -- The Beast Wars 20th Anniversary Comic Book series that could have been...
TRANSFORMERS: UNITY -- the BotCon 2016 Comic Book that should have been...

Well, I'm glad to see another Beast Wars fan join the ranks.
Really GD, there's not much I can impart on you that hasn't already been said.

My advice? - If you prefer MIB/MOSC then don't compromise because what you have working for you are 2 simple things IMO:

    1. By limiting your BW collecting preference to show characters, you've drastically reduced the number of figures you'll need as well as the amount of money you'll have to spend.
    2. Whilst the MIB/MOSC BW figures may seem pricey, compare them to any G1 figure of the same status, a MIB Optimus Prime: $355 (including postage) - a MIB Optimus Primal: $140 (considered postage).

Personally, I think if you just pace out your spending/collecting, stick to show characters only and go with the original figures over the Telemochas (As they are the figures you saw and wanted as a kid ), you'll definitely be able to amass a beautiful MIB/MOSC collection and I truly hope you succeed dude because it is something I'd very much like to do down the track myself.

Also, unfortunately for BW figures you'll find it near on impossible to try and find parts to 'build a complete figure' so to speak because unlike G1, unfortunately , spare parts aren't particularly numerous and I'm currently in this situation with a couple of my own figures such as Basic Rattrap, of whom has been mentioned , I thought was complete until closer inspection (I'm missing that blasted gun!).
So yeah, you're kind of restricted to buying 100% complete figures or MIB/MOSC figures if you want a complete and whole collection of figures.

The good thing though is there is a number of well versed BW Collecting members on the board that will gladly help you out where they can and between Verno (Who I've bought from on a number of occasions) and Autocon who are selling a large number of 100% Complete figures - You'll have a large number of figures you'll be able to obtain should you find yourself unfortunately having to go with non MIB/MOSC figures.

Keep us posted though dude and again, if there is anything you need to ask? - Please don't hesitate.

    Oh, by the way...

If you get Optimal Optimus, you must grab a TM2 Dragon megs as well - he isnt so hard to get MISB - BBTS has some and so does ebay. Its such a majestic figure in dragon mode and is my fave.... next to TM Tarantulas... that is if your going to collect the TM versions as well.

I agree with Verno -- not a fan of Hasbro's Dinobot reissue. There's nothing inherently wrong with it, it's just that the colours don't match either the original toy or the cartoon model. I think the colours on the original Dinobot are fine, although the Telemocha Dinobot reissue has more showlike colours, even with a mouth painted on.

My "Season 1" diorama has Telemocha Dinobot (clobbering Inferno), and my "Season 2" diorama shows original Dinobot (being thrown by Rampage).

Anyway, here are some toy reference pics:
    Original Dinobot toy
Japanese variant Dinobot (the normal Japanese Dinobot is the same as the original Hasbro ver.)
Fox! Kids Dinobot (not released in AU)
    Hasbro reissue Dinobot
