So, highly suspect they are not only going to keep my personal items but screw me over on 2 weeks normal pay and over 3 weeks holiday pay.

I am somewhat concerned that you admitted what you did with the sim on a document however good your intentions are. I like the way you worded it but you could have also gone down the path of

"you signed a document stating that all outstanding items have been returned" followed with "failure to return my personal property within 3 business days & all outstanding monies within 1 business day will result in a formal lodgment of theft with the Police & a claim report filed with the ombudsman"

I am no lawjiver but they are trying to fuck you over here.

Oh well. See what the reply to my email is, but I wont be replying to anymore communication from them.

As yes, they are trying to screw me.

I don't know the laws in NZ & as i said I am no lawjiver but if they screw you over you could possibly sell the debt to a debt recovery agency & they will hound them mercilessly causing them all sorts of aggrivation.

Petty sure but they are being petty themselves.

Sounds like you had a fun filled day Blackie. At least it's Friday tomorrow. Did you manage to sell your car though?

I'm pissed I had a interview for a job for a big marketing firm today, I think I blew it.

It was going all so well until we got to the group activity I got placed with the biggest bunch of morons ever. The group constantly tried to dominate over each other especially when an observer watched us. I felt like some of these people were just talking for the sake of it, to try get noticed.

But here's the killer bit we decided to do a roleplay, and I was to be a customer and the others would act as staff members. We watched 2 other groups do great roleplays and then suddenly one of my group members decided to change our roleplay into a presentation at the last moment without telling any of us. He stuffed the whole group up not just me, but since I was playing the customer I was essentially left without a part and I had to stand there, making me look like I was doing nothing. I chimed in a couple of times to back up others when they made a point but on the whole our presentaiton was piss poor (easily the worst of all the groups) and it looked like I contributed the least....

This one guy who changed it really got on my nerves he was a cynical asshat who tried to dominate discussion and shut other people's ideas down, when the other groups were talking he started dissing them and bragging to me how our group preso would "s**t on them" Needless to say he really didn't say much and he definitely did not set the world on fire with his presentation skills.

Now I did ok in the individual intro bit and I asked some decent questions, but yeah apparently the group exercise is a big part of the assessment and I'm not going to hold my breath on getting the job. I'm really pissed off about because it looks like essentially other people have cost me the job. I could live with it if I stuffed up myself but I didn't everything was all rosy until the group thing.

I'm really annoyed I can't stop thinking about it and I hate the feeling when you look back 6 months wondering where you could of been if just those little things were different...

Oh good God what a craptastic week...my stepfather finally passes away from asbestosis (better now than later though, he was almost at catheter stage) early Sunday, and trying to get a Yakkan Shoumei for the upcoming Japan trip has been a several-hundred-dollars-in-so-far-futile-doctor's-appointments-rainy-days-public-transport three day nightmare-fest which I need to wrap up tomorrow at the latest - the saga is long and complex and full of screw-ups and I don;t have the energy to recount it all but it sucks. I am SO SICK of having to do supposed experts' jobs for them - and repeatedly insist they do even just the paperwork I need them to do - just to get my own life in order, but I'd best get used to it (again/as usual) because of the new Izumi-shi JETs there's already at least one I'm probably going to have to effectively babysit for the first month.
Oh and today's grand highlight was a bunch of bogans on the Midland train line openly discussing whether or not to bash me to steal my Health Care Card right next to me while they thought I was 1: tripping on LSD (not quite sure about this one) and 2: listening to music (which I was but not so loud I can't hear people right next to me), and then having to wait for half an hour for a bus at Midland station while they stood around and picked up drugs from a fourth dude...sigh.
    I hate Midland.

This actually belongs in the good thread as it made me laugh hander than I have in weeks - but to keep it in context I will put it here.

Thank you for providing the information as to the whereabouts of the SIM card. The ownership being that of [work] or the Tele-Communications provider is immaterial. It was not your decision to make regarding it’s disposal. The information contained on the card is actually [work] Intellectual Property.

I am also happy for this to be the last communication, your personal items will be delivered to your home address at my earliest convenience.
So they wanted the SIM Card returned as it was works property but now that is immaterial.
and with this email, it proves that our HR advisor does not know what SIM cards are, or how they work.

(As part of my previous job, I was sole charge of ALL company mobile phones. So, it is actually my decision to get rid of a SIM card ..)

Again this made me laugh so hard it actually hurt ..
