Can't they ever be creative and use something other than black, and something other than a 'dark/black/evil' xxxxxx (character name).
I'd be more interested if they took some inspiration from the colourschemes of diaclone/microman toys. At least if it looks weird, it would be homaging something that is unique enough to be worth buying to have next to the regular figure.

It reminds me of a comic skit (Shortpacked?) someone once did where Takara execs are spinning their "Wheel O' Exclusive Repaints" -- and the options are black black black black black clear black black -- tik tik tik tik tik tik... which will it stop on?!

Packaging for the MP Black Rodimus has been revealed on the Ehobby website.
And TakaraTomy site has updated to include it and the Encore 20 Devastator.
