Aside from the bizarre weapon of choice... which has its own list of questions... I don't understand how the mechanic ended up taking the blame for the lost car, when it was the driver who stole it from the impound yard (it had been repossessed because the driver had defaulted on its loan). The driver had managed to intimidate the mechanic into taking responsibility for the repossessed car, and already made him agree to pay a significant amount of money for a car that was lost due to the driver's inability to pay the loan. So the driver didn't want to pay off the car in the first place, and now expects other people to pay for it. Talk about a freeloading scammer... with an unusual toy collection.
