Woah, hold on a second, I think you're taking my comment the wrong way man. If it came across as elitist, I apologise.

What I meant was that Australia is such a small community, if you're a "Transformers collector" (as opposed to someone that collects all sorts of figures and doesn't have a particular focus on Transformers) even if you have limited interaction on the forums it would be near impossible to not have heard the news due to all the publicity the Masterpieces (and Metroplex) have been getting across the net, and as Sinnertwin mentioned above, the google search results.

I in no way intended it to imply that if you haven't heard of him that anyone was less of a collector.

It's okay - the tone of my post obviously didn't come across to you but it did to Cat, so bad Zommael. I was being flippant. I know Soundwave is a popular character and anticipated release, but I don't personally care for the G1 or Masterpiece design that much (something TRU have made easier by not having a store in my area). I hope everyone who wants one gets one. My point was simply that not everyone wants one, even if they have heard of it.

Good deal. Made me have a look but I can only find it for sale where it'd be an extra $100 or so on eBay to the local price. Same deal if I throw it into my pile of loot on BBTS.

My honest opinion is most collectors already bought it prior to knowing the hasbro version is coming here. As far as I know, I didn't think about it and thought it was SDCC exclusive at that time and will not be launched here.

But I guess lets just wait and see rather than pointless speculation whether this will be gone in day 1.

Oh yeah......speaking of which, does this contain headphones? Its a masterpiece, I would think they done it correctly?

I came across a funny moment a while back where i was talking with a dealer (of antique and unique toys) and he knew nothing about the Hasbro (and more superior version imo). He did have the takara version for sale and had onsold them but for a much more ridiculous price. He had a couple of tapes but they were extremely high also. But i thought it funny that he was a dealer and knew nothing about them.
Anyhoo, i am also on the anticipated waiting list.

I think the Hasbro version is best bang for buck. But in terms of quality, I do not know how to comment as some fans may like one version over the other.

It doesn't. Unlike the original #17 Japanese release, he doesn't come with headphones and microphone.

Why would you expect the Hasbro version to have headphones if the Takara version didn't? It's not as if you could use them. And for most collectors it would be a waste. Even if it only added $5 to the price, that's $5 more than it had to be. If you really want them, why not go buy yourself a cheap set?

Oh don't get me wrong, I think both versions should have it. even if its not the traditional earphones.

If I had to buy them myself is as good as the tapes not coming with it?

Its just a point, I get it, who cares? But realistically soundwave is not transforming to a box.
