Looks like I'm not the only one realising that the Megatron toy is not likely to be released on its own (for a lot less than the price of three expensive pairs of shoes), as the prices of the loose figures on ebay are now going way up again.
They bottomed out at just a couple dollars each (after the first few hit over $100), and now I just got outbid on one at $41 with half a day still to go.
(unless it is people here jumping on them after I mentioned it above)
The seller has also suddenly started listing several of them, possibly to capitalise on the renewed interest in this figure.
any idea where we can get the limited edition boxset from and price as yet?
Prices of these loose Megatron figures on ebay are creeping back up, as people are realising it is a "cheaper" way to get it now.
The four that I bid on yesterday ended at - US$47, US$41, US$46, US$51... and I that was after I raised my max bid from $30 to $36.
Not a priority figure for me, but it would be fun to have a Transformers toy that comes with its own football.
buy it from the states ...

I guess that's a better (cheaper) option to the 3-pack - just buying one pair of shoes to get the Megatron toy... which has a better looking box than I expected. It looks like it's own box too (it doesn't look deep enough to be just sitting in the top of a shoe box).
It might end up being worth buying one, and reselling the shoes (close to what the retail price is) to shoefans, just to get the toy at a cheap price. Otherwise, people buying the shoes and reselling the toy are likely to be getting just as much back off the toy from toyfans.
Another 10 hours and it'll be mayhem among the shoe fans and toy fans fighting over that link.
When you said went down in price I was expecting $20-$30., I couldn't find any under $50
