The colours are slightly different as well - one helicopter is mostly green while the other helicopter is mostly red.
Robot modes are very similar though, but the extra colouring can still be seen to tell the two apart.

Dunno about you guyz, but I found that somewhat boring. Victorion looks like rubbish. and a G2 Superion colouring? Scattershot? That's all? After the line drawings at Botcon, they got nothing else?
Yeah... where is the Titan Wars news... or at least, the confirmation that it was just a red herring to get fans distracted.

And I'd rather have SDCC "boring" with little new News, than seeing Hasbro once again having little revealed at the "fans convention" just so they could get media coverage by the regular media at SDCC.
I think this year they struck an acceptable balance. They gave us a heap of new reveals at BotCon that included Wave 2 for 2016, while the SDCC presentation didn't include Wave 2, but did include other items that weren't revealed at BotCOn... just so they get some regular media coverage of something that isn't "old news".
(it is important for the major toy companies to get non-fan media exposure, and if Hasbro showed off everything at BotCon, their competitors will get all the non-fan media coverage instead, because it isn't News anymore... but in recent years, Hasbro was embracing it too much, at the expense of the fan convention, like the Combiner Wars announcement last year, which should have been enjoyed by the fans and fansites first)

Ive got two sets of perfect effect feet. 1 for superion and 1 for menasor but finding it hard to justify getting a few more sets of black feet.
It's necessary to understand the priority of Hasbro is to get certain size classes under a certain production price. Having the one basic design for hands and feet for the whole first year, might have made enough savings in their 2015 budget to give us an extra mould or different robot heads or body sculpting.
What is the cost of the 3rd party feet and hands? Add that to the cost of the Hasbro toy and there would have been other costs cut, like more mould reuse in the jets and vehicles that wouldn't have made sense (like Offroad and Blast Off).
Considering the hands and feet are such a minor part of the toy, with the main focus being on their ability to combine and play like a single solid toy, I think they work well enough... and are heaps better than the Energon combiner hands/feet.

Would you rather have the Alpha Bravo mould as the gold Slingshot?

There was still a lot to digest out of it all, and I think I had about 6 postings after Hursticons big post o' pics.

Now to go back and look at the RID presentation and the Hasbro exhibit display... as I stayed up for the Generations presentation.

Considering the pricing for Hasbro masterpiece toys went up after Soundwave to start costing more (in America) than the Japanese versions... and the 30% blowout of our exchange rate since last year, I'd be expecting $200 here for Starscream, and would be really surprised if it was anywhere around the $150 mark.

They probably aren't done with the reveals yet. It's the first day of the con and they usually put more things in over the course of the weekend, or have in recent years at any rate. Does anyone know if they have any other panels scheduled?

If that meant Slingshot would have been available locally as a trade-off, heck yeah
I've got no problem with Slingshot being on the G2 combiner war Superion... just would have been nice if it was available from Hasbro for the G1 one. But who knows, maybe they wanted that point of difference between the two.

The two presentations today was all that were scheduled... but like you say, they might still put out something new in the display case on the exhibit room floor.

And where are the Reissue Dinobots?
I was sure they'd be revealing them... as that would have been a great publicity element. Hopefully it is something they put out before the end of the weekend.

And how are people going with chasing up the exclusive toys?
Is anyone chasing them up as soon as possible or even have them pre-ordered from someone who was going to be at the SDCC, or will you wait until the hype dies down and see if prices come down like they did for last years toys?

The Generations Toys and Store Exclusives are now in the display case.
To people new to the original Generation 2's wacky colours, the Stunticons and some of the Aerialbots are gonna look too weird to want to buy... but for a Gen1 fan to see that full Display Case photo, it's like a flashback to the past.

Official images now, mirrored on the global fansites...

    Gen2 Superion

    Gen2 Mensaor

    Victorion

Voyager Scattershot (scroll down a little to see a photo of it's combined mode in the display case, to see that it's combiner mode doesn't have any remoulding compared to Silverbolt... only the jet mode seems to have the remoulding)

Platinum Edition packs - Coneheads, Blaster/Perceptor, Trypticon

    Masterpiece - Bluestreak, Starscream.

Scattershot looks like Silverbolt's shirt had an colourfast accident in the washing machine.

I was looking forward to Scattorshot, and unlike many in the comments section on the website I am still pretty pumped for it. His combined mode however is pretty 'meh'

Victorian looks a lot better in the stock photos rather then the SDCC toys we saw.

Well, what an almighty heap of 5#!+.

TRANSFORMERS: DEICIDE -- The Beast Wars 20th Anniversary Comic Book series that could have been...
TRANSFORMERS: UNITY -- the BotCon 2016 Comic Book that should have been...

So now, having some time to digest, I have to say Victorion is a must-buy for me for the new hands and feet and AWESOME SWORD. I'm disappointed with the helicopter modes though, but on the other hand a combiner with four helicopter limbs is now possible, so that's fun (I guess Cyclonus would have to be the core, hehe).

Bruticus and especially Superion I am wavering on. I currently have the original Superion with Alpha Bravo and I'm perfectly happy with it, but I do feel that the G2 colours look pretty good on the toy, plus I don't have Slingshot. It's the set I'm least likely to get atm, because I already have 5/6 of it.

Bruticus is a slightly different story; at present I just have the four Stunticon cars, not Motormaster or Blackjack. If Motormaster does get released over here before I go abroad, I may still pick him up, and then I'll start to be very iffy on the G2 Menasor set. On the other hand, if I don't see Motormaster before going away, I'm hoping I might have the chance to pick up Grand Scourge instead, and use him as the core for Menasor. If that happens there's a significantly higher chance of me grabbing the G2 set, as I'd only actually have 3/6, but it's not like Wildrider is enough of a draw to really be worth it. If I do get Menasor I'll probably get Superion too.

Pushing me towards getting the G2 sets is the fact that I already have G2 FOC Bruticus, and having the three on my shelf standing together with Laser Prime and maybe any other modern G2 figures I can find would be super-awesome. So we'll see. All of this is based on the prices being reasonable, too, either ordering from overseas or released in this country.
