I just got made redundant today. I had this job for over 14 years.

I had to search old USB sticks around the house looking for a copy of my resume as I had no hope of remembering the dates of my other jobs.

Sorry to hear that Thurmus. At the very least, I hope you got a decent payout.

Fourteen+ years in a job is a strong selling point to your choice of next employer.

No my vent is the fact that the hours have been changed so I have to shift my Gym session to either Monday or Wednesday afternoon, and boy do I hate having to shift stuff.

One of the worst times of my life is being made redundant.

Agreed, that sucks dude. Happened to me years back, shortly after we'd purchased our first home. Felt like dirt coming home with that news.

Spent the next 2-3 weeks solid canvassing every day until I finally landed a job. I hope you're not out of work for long. It sounds like you have a lot of experience, should work in your favour. Will keep my fingers crossed for you dude.

sorry to hear Thurmus, hopefully you can pick something up soon and save some of your redundancy package for something more than staying away from Centrelink.

like others said, 14 years makes you a solid prospect for a future employer. What field are you in?
