    The "Friends" feature... is there any other benefit besides being able to PM someone quicker?

    please don't get me wrong.. I want to make full use of it.. but I can't see any other reason besides that

    I was worried that it may be seen as a popularity thing, and have some feel left out if they didn't have any, but it does have its use as a contact list/address book for PMing. And at least if you wanted people added to your friends list, you can just apply to add them. I doubt there would be too many who would reject another member's request.
