Takara can retool all they want as they designed the figure. A KO comes from someone elses design. Whether they paint it different, shrink or enlarge it, retool it, or change its materials does not matter.. it is a KO.

I agree that "KO" has negative conotations and it seems unfair considering how much effort WeiJang has gone to, but that is what this has always been classified as. 100% credit should not go to WeiJang because of improvements and the "KO" moniker symbolizes this.

I think a new type of KO will emerge if companies produce more figures like this. Maybe they will be known as KO+, KOMP or KOv2 to symbolise a drastically improved figure. I hope this is a new accepted classification and not just a series some company sets out to create.

While 100% credit should not go to Weijiang. I say 100% that TT is responsible for not doing it right. And to me is very shameful that someone took your toy and made more money when you can have everything that wowed people into buying.

The closest thing I ever wanted to buy was the dual model kit from bayformers line.

A lot of could have, should have but no action just disappoints me, and Weijiang is just showing the "what you should have done" result.

I came so close to buying a Ko mp-10 at one time because TT didn't even bother to reissue after 4 years. Those Ko should have not come to that but they let it happen and now same for seekers.

Takara and Hasbro didn't do it wrong, they designed an excellent toy for a mass release retail price point. Even the cheapest places you can source this WeiJiang KO cost more than double the price of the official release. the average eBay price for this figure is nearly 4 times the price of the official product. (in Australia, which is nearly twice the price of the same item in America)

If Takara and Hasbro thought the market would support a figure with that level of paint and finish, they may have made it.

WJ have taken the design, and worked with it. they get credit for making something nicer than the retail product perhaps, but to slam the original designer/manufacturer for designing to meet restrictive price/part count/paint restraints to make a profit in a global mass retail market is unreasonable and short sighted.

I am considering getting this, it does look that good, but the original toy was a brilliant design.

Definitely, Evasion Prime is one of the best voyagers in recent memory. Heck I rate it as one of the best Voyagers ever.

Please don't take this thread as an excuse to bash Hasbro/Takara, drifand. They've done what they've done for a reason. Let's just move on from that.

Here's the thing, you already fork up the cash for it, is a sunken cost. While you made it affordable for the mass market, it isn't enough to get the real spenders to spend. Perhaps they are afraid that they will loose money spending on quality but I am pretty confident many here are willing to spend for quality not compromise materials and paint cuts.

Slam? Not really, disappointed it is. Like said TT has no excuse but to blame themselves for the rise of Kos . Sure TT made it to the global market but how many people are indeed very interested? I made 0 attempt in all bayformers toys because if the masterpiece line is just average then what chance does a cheaper line has?

Who has actually saw the oversized bumblebee in the lemon yellow colours?
Again, TT have every chance to make a yellow bee with back pack but nope. Can't be stuffed I say for TT .

I don't want a cheap affordable crapy toy for the collectors line. I want proper quality made toys which I can proudly display, play and pay for at realistic prices. I can't tell you the number of toy collectors that refused to buy a mp because "it looks cheap" that I have met from time to time.

i am not going to rave about this product either until I played with it.

Again people seem to think I have some heavy bad thing to say about TT. FYI I actually don't care about hasbro.

Here's the thing, if they are doing things right, I will NOTbe interested in this product. Not a damn chance!

I review the toy as it is. If you choose to use poor materials, you will get marked down, you choose not to paint, you get marked down.

I am tired of waiting for TT to wow me.

It's a cool toy, nice premium feel, but certainly not beyond what TT consistently puts out of the MP line like people online have been claiming.

Still a really nice piece, interesting transformation (disclaimer: I never touched the original evasion toy it's based on).

Nice to see that you've received him. The transformation is very similar to the original toy with some extra bits and pieces.
