Release dates are indeed set by Hasbro (either as an estimate of when the stock should be here or a set global release date of a major item or wave), but the issue we have here is when dated items are having their release dates pushed back... which means that the supplier (Hasbro) is having trouble getting the stock in time to meet their own release dates.
That's a concern, as there is now a slim possibility that the supplier (Hasbro) is unable to secure stock at all... and the longer it is dragged out with delay updates, the harder it will be for us collectors to track down affordable alternatives from elsewhere before it is too late.

I have a list of all G1 characters that have been released in CHUG form. You can find it here. Please feel free to let me know if I got anything wrong so I can fix it.

Well, I just got 13 different e-mails from Amazon pushing stuff back yet again. At this point I give up on trying to figure out things like why JB Hi Fi has SS86 Ironhide right now, and yet Amazon says they cannot get it before March next year. Just glad that there is something like JB as an alternative to Amazon, especially when stuff isn't even making it to the shelves of Kmart or Target or Big W this year...

I've had basically every preorder of mine at Amazon delayed since late last night. I don't normally care about getting figures in a timely manner, but now this is getting very annoying.

Yeah, I don't care about delays but now I'm getting emails that aren't delays, but more like 'not sure if we're getting it at all'. So something has gone amiss....

Ah, had not noticed the lack of a new date. Fortunately it's only Crankcase (so the Amazon order is only an emergency backup for a scenario where it somehow never appears on the shelves of Kmart, Big W, Target, or JB Hi Fi) for me so far, but still...

I guess that's the thing now, is to have Amazon as a last-resort backup, and to keep an eye out for the cheaper retailers and get them there if they get them first.

Amazon just dispatched DK3. About damned time, too.

Maybe some of the other items might start arriving too...
