    Default Custom classics omnibot Downshift

Made from a Wheeljack with the airdam trimmed back, spoiler removed, little fold-out wings removed and armada Optimus Prime head.

Wheeljack's neck stump was way too big for the head. I have tried trimming it but any pressure on it forces the torso down, making it annoying. I may end up just glueing it on.

The gun is from Silverstreak. I gave Wheeljack's original gun to my son who bought a Tracks without his gun.

The shoulder stickers were carefully peeled off my junker Downshift.

    With fellow custom Omnibot Overdrive

Another good thing about the mold is that it can make Downshift's "attack mode".

    Any ideas for Camshaft??

Hey that works really well as Downshift!

Very nice! I wish Hasbro were this clever.

Wow!! That looks really good! Did you paint over Wheeljacks red/green stripes or did you remove them somehow? I got my Energon Downshift the other day but am thinking of making him look less like Wheeljack. Good inspiration!!

Nice work. Well executed. Did you do any painting? Can't seem to get the hang of white paint myself.

    Thanks for the feedback everyone

I used isopropyl (rubbing alcohol from Bunnings) to remove Wheeljack's coloured stripes. Alas it also removed the white paint from the roof and I had to repaint it. It's because the entire roof piece is transparent plastic painted white, then painted red/green. There's no such problems with the body because it's cast in white plastic.

I also have trouble with white paint and if you look closely you can see streaking/clumping on the roof . You can't see it in the photos but in real life you can also see it's a slightly different shade. I'm going to try it again later.

They'll probably steal the idea later

Reckon it could be a Spacepet exclusive. Want us to discuss it with the powers that be?
